Oswego City Animal Shelter We are a municipal Shelter and Animal Control office. We serve the City of Oswego. We are law enforcement for the City of Oswego.

We are not affiliated with the Oswego County Humane Society,or the Animal Welfare League. To adopt a pet you must fill out an adoption application to be approved by our staff. There is a 48 hour wait on all adoptions to give us a chance to review your application and give you a chance to think about the commitment of owning a pet. Adopted pets may not be given as gifts,out side of the household.Th

e adoption fees vary dependent upon licensing fees and spay/neuter refunds. Dogs are brought out to view after application has been approved. Any interests of adoptions outside the local area or out of state, please contact the office by e-mail. As Animal Control, we get in a variety of species, but this is a first for us...meet Webby, our Curly Haired Tarantula! He/she/it is up for adoption to an exotic pet experienced home. Please do some RESEARCH before considering adoption. Please show serious inquires only by submitting an application via the link in the first post pinned to the top of our page. Now what we've got here is a gorgeous guy named Wilson! He is a 1-2 year old and Border Collie/Spaniel mix. This crazy fun kid is looking for an active home that like to go for walks, runs, or hike! He loves his lady pup friends, but is a little male dog choosey. He does better with laid back ones, or younger pups. Look at those beautiful eyes and markings...and he's a dapper dresser to boot! Our sweet Acorn is STILL waiting for a nice family to love him. We don't understand why he's been here so long! This nutty, goofball will win you over with his sweet snuggles and his silly playful nature. He is a velcro dog to the max, at 1-2 years old, and adores his human friends. He likes other dogs but may be a little too interested in cats. From those Sinatra blue eyes to his love of jumping up to catch snowflakes...who can resist this charming lovebug? We sure can't! Meet Art! Sweet, chunky, silly...Artie is just a doll! He is around 5, likes other dogs, but still needs to be cat tested. This wiggle worm lives for belly rubs and his zest for fun and snuggles is infectious. From his snow wriggling to his Flying Nun ears, you can't help but smile when you meet him! Who needs a permanent smile?? Art's your guy!

We are looking for a helping hand for our sweet friend, Ava! Ava was surrendered to us after her owner was no longer physically able to care for her. At 13 years old, the shelter is no place for a super senior. Miss Ava appears to be in decent health but may have some arthritis in her back end. Ava has her spunky, playful moments as all Shepherds do, but mostly she loves to hang out, nap, and eat treats! She seems to do well with other dogs and we were told she lived with a small dog. Would need to cat test her. Ava loves being scratched and walks well on leash. Please help us, help Ava! She's looking for a quiet home to live out her Golden years. She deserves better than what we can give her here. She has earned it. Give our pretty German girl a share or throw in an application to adopt!
