****Positive rabies case (bat), in Kendall County****

We are informing residents of Kendall County, and beyond, that there has been a positive case of rabies found in a bat in Kendall County. The last reported positive case of rabies in the County was in 2013 (according to IDPH).

It is required by both County Ordinance and State Statute that cats and dogs are vaccinated for rabies. If your pet is not current on a vaccination, call your veterinarian or a low cost clinic to get an appointment for the updates. There are both 1 and 3 year options available depending on owner preference and/or if there is proof that the pet has been previously vaccinated.

Rabies is a fatal disease and transmissible to both other animals and humans. Please call KCAC at 630-553-9256 if you have any questions or concerns.
