8/28- Update: This dog has not yet been caught. Please keep reporting sightings and DO NOT chase him! Thanks! A trapper is working with the family.

We need your help! We are trying to get this boy reunited with his family, and he is running scared in the city of Oswego.

If you see him, please DO NOT CHASE HIM, DO NOT CALL HIM, OR TRY TO APPROACH HIM! He is terrified and in survival mode and will not go to you!

If you see him, please report his location to us, either through private message or by calling the shelter (315-343-1803). Please do not post his location and sightings here! We want to keep his hiding spots as quiet and private as possible so he will stop running and settle into one location.

Thanks in advance for your help!!! Please share!!!!

We wanted to take a moment to recognize an amazing organization. Paws Across Oswego County is a nonprofit rescue that focuses on finding homes for dogs in need (and sometimes cats!). The staff and volunteers work tirelessly to aid these dogs by fostering, training, spaying/neutering, providing vaccinations and necessary testing, worming, grooming and so much more, and they do it all for the love of animals. They are the best! We appreciate all of their efforts and hope you will support them as well!

Special shout out to Heather - all of your dedication does not go unnoticed. Happy birthday!

Blue-green algae intoxication can be fatal to our furry friends. But don’t worry, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center has all the information on keeping your pets safe.

08/04/2024

Please be aware there are high algal blooms in our area. We are seeing some pretty significant skin bacterial infections with dogs swimming in local waterways. Please be vigilant if you take your dog swimming. More serious illnesses can occur with exposure to algal blooms. It might be best to hold off on taking your dog swimming until the levels subside. Many areas have been closed for swimming access so be aware and use your best judgment.

Good Morning Friends! We were just notified about a post regarding free kittens on a local page. When people have reached out they were told there is now a rehoming fee since the kittens were dropped off at our facility this morning. This is not true and we are concerned about a potential scam. If you happen to see any posts please let me know so we can reach out and correct the situation. (post located and reported - pictures are of Maine C**n Kittens on a persons page - appears to be a SCAMMER)

Please be aware we will be closed on July 4th so our staff can celebrate with their families.

06/30/2024

The fourth of July is near and what better way to celebrate than with fireworks and sparklers. Although it may not be expected, dogs will chew on and eat fireworks and may become anxious due to the unexpected, loud sound. When ingested dogs can have GI upset, obstruction, and even damage to their red blood cells. It’s best to keep your furry friends inside while enjoying the pyrotechnics!
