Some dogs just make you smile when you are around them and that's Orin! He's such a fantastic little guy and he loved his teddy bear so Kaitlyn had to take some pictures. He kept grabbing it and shaking it. He tries to take the toys from the dogs in the kennel next to him. Watching him shake his bear was pretty cute.

He loves people and wants to be with them. Orin doesn't mind being picked and carried either. He'll sit for treats too. You've got to love the little snaggle tooth look!

Gada was adopted...finally! Owen and Gada will have a great time together and we are so excited for them.

Gada and her two sisters came to us February 18, 2024 as 7 month old, unsocialized, very scared pups. Over time with a ton of effort put into the girls, they came around, better than we ever expected. All three went to through the Ridge Dogs Training Program and did well there but it's hard sometimes to get shy dogs adopted because they just don't present well. Even though Gada loves to play, gets along with male and female dogs and walks fantastic on a leash, she kept getting over looked.
Like we said, finally someone came to see her and decided to give it a try. We think they will do well together and Gada left without a glance back.

Bonez was standing still so Elizabeth quickly took some pictures because this energetic boy doesn't stand still often. When he came to us, he looked like a Cockapoo but after trimming the long matted ears and some hair from around his eyes, he looks like a hairy Othello Mutt!
Bonez needs some kids to run with or someone that likes to go on runs or hikes. He's the sweetest boy and is game for anything. He gets along well with other dogs and loves playing tag with them. Walks well on a leash too.

One of our staff lives out in the country and on her way to the shelter, she drives by a place that usually has a dog or two that live there. Driving by in mid-October, she noticed a big, older Anatolian male and a little tan scruffy dog that seemed to have moved in.
Then we got a call about a big Anatolian that had shown up at someone's house and judging by the address, we told him the dog may belong to someone we know. He also mentioned that there was a little dog that was with the Anatolian and that they wouldn't leave and seemed to have moved in since they had been there for over a week or more.
Fast forward a few days when our staff member was driving by the house again and saw the Anatolian and the scruffy dog and remembered hearing about the phone call so she turned around and stopped at the house.
There were people outside doing yard work so she asked if they had called the shelter about these two dogs. They had. And she asked if they had heard from the people we thought owned the Anatolian. Turns out the dog wasn't theirs so that was a dead end.
While our staff member was chatting about stray dogs, Cade the little scruffy dog in the picture started trying to hump on the house owners little female Heeler. So she told the people about our Fall Fix Fest coming up and decided to scoop up the little scruffy thing because we all know we don't need scruffy Heeler mix puppies around if they decided not to get their dog fixed. The big dog moved on later in the afternoon and we've had sightings in the area on and off for a few weeks.
Cade is a fun little guy and he's ready for adoption! He walks on a leash well and enjoys people. He gets along well with other dogs but probably isn't house trained.

A few more pictures from the Fall Fix Fest 2025!

Everyone felt that this years event was very successful. Check out the numbers! 285 dogs and cats altered, microchipped and vaccinated.
110 dogs and 174 cats!! So many people and groups are responsible for an event of this size becoming a reality. It's the only way something like this can be offered. We appreciate everyone that helped make this happen through donations, time and effort!
