With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.

Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.

If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

Fireworks can be a stressful time for our furry friends, but medication can help in two big ways:

❤Reduces Anxiety: Fireworks can be loud and unpredictable, causing anxiety in many pets. Medication can help keep them calm and relaxed.

❤Prevents Panic: Sudden loud noises can lead to panic and even attempts to escape. Medicated pets are less likely to react fearfully and more likely to stay safe and sound.

Make sure to put in your medication orders early, as requests usually take 24 hours to process and we will be closed from July 4th. Let’s make this Independence Day a peaceful one for our beloved pets.
