*Available*

"Swagger" is a 13 year old, grade QH type gelding, looking for new home!!

- Easy to catch, leads, ties, loads, lunges, stands for farrier (has been shod all around, but is currently barefoot), loves attention, stands to be groomed and saddled.
- Broketo ride, but not for beginners as he as some go and challenges his rider when he's not ridden regularly. Would be a great step up horse for experienced, confident rider or someone that wants do playdays or fun events and/or trails.
- Used to be a family trail horse and was ridden all over, trail rides, arena, etc. A young women bought her as her first horse and he ended up being too much for her with not being an experienced rider and then not riding often enough.
- I am giving Swagger a refresher on everything so he's ready to go with his new family fresh as can be for spring. I will work on adding buttons and desensitizing him to multiple things the lonher he's with me. He’s experienced just hasn’t had the right partner or enough rides in the last 6+months.

- CONS: will mount mares in heat if pastured with them, impatient when being tied and on slow trail rides but this has already started improving since i started working with him just a handful of times.

I will be getting good photos and videos of him soon and am able to show him to anyone serious interested.

Ottawa, KS
3.5k until I get more rides on him and get videos posted.

*Selling for frend while he's in training with me as she's not able to keep him.* She also has a barrel saddle for sell. I believe it's a 14 or 15 inch w/ a round skirt.

Good thing we were able to get Foxy comfortable with a saddle recently or we would never have been able to get a blanket on her before this cold weather. Still can't believe how much progress she had made in just a month!

Foxy Update 01/25

Started the New Year off great! This is the first time Foxy (our APHA) and Tulip (our Fresian) have ever been saddled and they acted like they do it ever day. Not a single hop, buck or flinch while we put the saddles on or while they wore them for the next hour. We had planned on them wearing the saddles for several hours so they could get used to them, but neither of them seemed to care.

In just over a month, Foxy has gone from being unable to catch and halter to wearing a saddle!

Foxy Update 12/28

Today was a major milestone for Foxy! This was the first time she has ever had a saddle on her!... well ok, it's a ba****ck pad ;). Since she has been doing so well, we decided to see how she would act with something on her back. To our surprise, she handled it like a pro. We placed the pad on her back and cinched it snug without any sort of freakouts or fits. She moved around like it wasn't there and wasn't even bothered by the stirrups.

We are planning to try an actual saddle soon.

➡️ Why I Choose Horses for My Kid: Lessons Worth Every Penny

People often ask me, “Why do you spend so much money on horses for your kid? They’re just ‘money pits,’ emotional heart-breakers made of tissue paper that can kick your lights out. Why?”

The answer is simple: because horses teach kids more than any iPad, social media influencer, or textbook ever could.

Yes, you’re right—horses are relentless in every way. They demand your time, energy, and finances. They can test your patience, challenge your emotions, and consume you entirely. But look at what they give in return.

⚡️ Lessons That Last a Lifetime

Horses teach my child skills no technology, trendy outfit, or peer group could ever provide:

• Nonverbal Communication: Learning to “speak” with a 1,200-pound animal without words develops awareness, empathy, and understanding.

• Responsibility: Early mornings, late nights, and putting the needs of another being before their own teach kids accountability.

• Confidence: The triumphs and struggles in the saddle or barn instill self-belief and grit.

• Emotional Intelligence: Handling setbacks, managing fears, and celebrating successes alongside a horse build emotional resilience.

• Decision-Making & Problem-Solving: When something goes wrong, as it inevitably does, kids learn to think critically and act swiftly.

• Goal Setting & Consistency: Progress with horses comes through small, consistent efforts—a powerful life lesson. swiftly.

• Value of Networking & Mentorship: The horse industry molds kids to be coachable and open minded to collaboration with their peers. Success in this industry requires a network - they learn that quickly.

Beyond the tangible skills, horses bring kids closer to nature, science, and even spirituality. There’s something deeply humbling and awe-inspiring about working with these magnificent creatures. I know for a fact they bring you closer to God as well.

🔥The Physical and Mental Challenge

Many don’t believe equestrian activities qualify as a sport. To that, I can only say: spend a day in the barn. The physical demands of mucking stalls, lifting hay bales, and conditioning a horse are real. Riding itself is a full-body workout that requires balance, strength, and coordination. These kids spend more time practicing their skills than most athletes on the planet.

But the mental aspect is just as significant. Equestrianism teaches kids how to master pressure, manage performance anxiety, and handle adversity with grace. Those are skills they’ll carry into every aspect of life.

👉 A Priceless Investment

I would rather my child be so consumed by the living, breathing responsibilities of horses than searching for validation on social media, in peer groups, or, worse, through harmful substances.

Horses are an investment—not just in riding lessons, vet bills, and show fees—but in my child’s future. I’d rather spend my money on building her character, teaching her discipline, and giving her life skills than on fleeting trends or technology that will soon be outdated.

Yes, horses are expensive. Yes, they’re challenging. But they’re also one of the greatest gifts I can give my child. Because when I look at her, I don’t just see a rider—I see a confident, capable, compassionate human being. And for that, horses are worth every penny.

Foxy Update 12/17

Today was a great day for Foxy! After just a few short weeks. Foxy will allow us to walk up to her and halter her in a pasture without running away! Such a great feeling that the training is paying off.

Foxy is also getting more comfortable being around people and letting them rub her body. Still alittle hesitant on her hind legs, but it's progress!

Foxy Update 12/7

Had an easy evening since Foxy's been working almost ever day the last few days. She's made so much progress and is getting comfortable being close to people. Foxy will let us walk up and halter her without a problem. She will even let us start brushing her while alittle unsure about it, but it's progress nonetheless :)

Foxy Update 12/02

Since Foxy has been progressing pretty quickly with haltering, leading and yeilding her hind quarters, we decided to see how she would handle lunging. Today was the first day she has ever been exposed to lunging and she did amazing. It took her a moment to realize what she needed to do, but in less than about 30 minutes she was getting the hang of it. At the end Foxy was moving in the right direction with only a hand motion.

With Foxy still being very unpredictable, we are taking things nice and easy and I'm staying at a safe distance from her. With it also being winter and not being able to blanket her yet, we can only do so much so she doesn't sweat and risk getting sick. It'll be a slow winter but we think it'll be a succesful one.

Here is the video of Foxy loading into the trailer.

This video is her second loading. We wanted to post the first video as well so everyone can see just how Maggie coached Foxy into the trailer, but unfortunately it's 10 minutes so it is too long to post. After Foxy loaded the first time, Maggie walked her off and loaded her again so she could get confident and comfortable with the trailer. This seemed to work as Foxy loaded in less than 2 minutes. Not bad for a very green and reactive horse!

Please forgive the redneck chute, but it got the job done!

Everyone, meet Foxy!!

We brought her home a few weeks ago as our new project. You may recognize her as we owned her for a short while last year before regretably selling her, but we decided to bring her back home for good.

Foxy is a 4 year old APHA cow bred mare that hasn't had much training and is still learning to be halter broke. After working with her consistently since we brought her home, Maggie has been able to approach her, halter her and now lead her onto a trailer! Foxy is making so much progress in the short time we have had her and know she will be a great horse.

We plan on posting about her regularly as we continue her training this winter so stay tuned for updates!

🐴 Training spots available! 🐴 Ottawa, KS

We focus on getting you a well mannered, respectful and happy partner. We ensure they’re safe on the ground and safe to get out and go on trail rides.

All ages and breeds welcome. Training horses will have their own paddock and run in. Brome hay and triple crown feeds provided unless owner provides their own feed. We have ADM protein tubs as well if desired.

$500/mo: youngens not ready to be saddle broke and just need to be taught ground manners/basics
$600/mo: youngens ready to be saddle broke but not have their first rides.
$750/mo: horses ready to be saddle broke, first rides, refreshers, extra miles, etc.

We haul to trails regularly so if owners approve their horse to leave our property, the training horses get hauled places as well.

We do our own trims so if your horses are in need of a trim, we will take care of them at $45 a horse. This is a mandatory care while your horse is with us (done every 4-8 weeks depending on horses needs). If they’re in need of a trim, they will be trimmed. Good feet makes a good horse, among other things 😉

Must have current coggins and vaccines please 🙂

Ready out for more details! 😊
