The garden is coming along well! I am growing okra and tomatoes. I am using the structure system again to hold the tomato vines. I am also trying a couple of new varieties of tomato. Phoenix and another one that has the word sun in it. These two varieties are supposedly more heat tolerant. They are growing slower than my big boy, but I’m hoping they’ll last longer when the summer gets hot

I haven’t planted a garden in a while because of physical issues, but with the help of my family we are trying a new method this year. I put down a plastic tarp weighted it down with boardsI had laying around, cut holes dug out the grass , put in topsoil and fertilized with a good fertilizer from Lukas nursery. Hopefully this will help keep out the bugs and the weeds but still allow the roots to grow deep. I’m going to try tomatoes from Home Depot and spineless Clemson okra seeds. If things get bad with the coronavirus, this will give us something to do as well as fresh vegetables

When asked who we plan to vote for for Oviedo mayor, our answer is Emma Reichert! She voted NO for developing the 60 acres on Mitchell Hammock and has provided a clear plan for how she wants to continue to make Oviedo the best city in Central Florida! She was positive during her interviews and obviously has Oviedo‘s best interest in mind. She’s passionate about restoring and saving older structures in the city. She would work with the city council, not against them! Plus, we love Fred!

Our blackberry plant is loving its container and ready for a trellis. We also added color to the container garden. Now the longevity spinach, tulsi, pineapple sage, and broad leaf plantain have a little color.
