🌟 Meet Bella & Theo – Our September Pets of the Month! 🌟

Bella (12 years old) 🐾
Bella chose her family 11 years ago at Orange County Animal Services, climbing right into her mom’s lap and sealing the deal with a kiss. In her younger years, Bella was full of energy, mischief, and incredible smarts. Her family swears she understands English and has the best pattern recognition skills around! While age has slowed her down just a little, Bella is still quick, agile, and always ready to chase a critter. These days, she enjoys couch time, listens attentively (sometimes too well), and proudly takes on the role of big sister. She was also a loving companion to Tucker, the family’s Golden Retriever, who passed last year.

Theo (15 months old) 🐾
Theo came into the family a year ago, thanks to Pet Rescue by Judy, and quickly won Bella over. He’s full of playful energy, always ready for a backyard chase, a tug-of-war, or to drop a toy at your feet with an expectant “let’s go!” look. His quirky habits include giving Bella “love nibbles” and making a dirt bike-like sound when he’s excited. With his joyful spirit, Theo keeps Bella young and active, and together they make the perfect duo!

Congratulations to our TOAH Pet of the Month, August 2025, Jay Jay! 🎉🐈🐾💙

Aloha, y’all! My name is JJ, and I was born feral in Hawaii 16 years ago. When I was just 6 weeks old, my hooman family scooped me up and gave me a safe, loving home—where, naturally, life began to revolve around me. I lived the island life until my family moved to Florida a few years ago. I like it here... except for those giant birds that sound like dinosaurs. No thanks!

My favorite thing in the world is lounging on the couch next to my hoomans while they pet me. They are completely powerless to my feline superiority. I also love to eat—maybe a little too much—so Dr. Keisha says I need to get more exercise and shed a few pounds to stay a healthy King of the Manor (she gets me). She and the rest of the hoomans at TOAH take great care of me, even if I really don’t like leaving my house.

This August, I’ll be turning 16! I fully expect my hoomans to prepare a feast worthy of my royal status. Meow and Mahalo!

🐾Meet Jack - TOAH's Pet of the Month for July!🐾

Jack joined his forever family when he was just 5 months old, and he’s been living the good life ever since. His favorite things include playing in the water (especially when the hose is involved), squeaky toys, and burying Milk Bones all over the house like hidden treasures.

His best dog friend is Jesse—she was kind enough to let Jack come live at her house. But his absolute best friend is Meghan, who is 6 years old. She gives the best hugs and kisses, and Jack loves waking her up every morning to get her ready for school. (That’s her in his picture!)

Jack loves coming to TOAH for doggie day play, where he’s made lots of new friends, and we love having him here just as much!

P.S. He’s a big fan of pup cups from Jeremiah’s. 🍦

🐾 Meet Pepper – TOAH’s Pet of the Month! 🐾

Pepper first showed up in the backyard by the birdbath, eyeing every squirrel and bird like a tiny panther on a mission. 🐦🐿️ For days, she kept returning—skinny, scrappy, and full of determination. Despite best efforts to resist (it never works 😅), one meal turned into forever. And just like that, Pepper became part of the Landers family. 🏡❤️

These days, Pepper eats like it’s her last supper every time. 🍽️ No bowl is safe—even her feline siblings know to guard their snacks. Her motto? "No bite left behind." 😼 She spends her days lounging on the patio 🌞 and sticking close to her best bud, Bond. Wherever one goes, the other follows! 🐈‍⬛👯‍♀️

From backyard stray to spoiled house queen 👑—Pepper’s story is one of perseverance, paw-sitivity, and perfectly timed eye contact. 😻

We honor the courageous men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy peace, freedom, and the comfort of everyday moments, including the joyful companionship of our pets.

As we care for our boarders this weekend, we do so with gratitude in our hearts, for those who served, for those who never came home, and for the families who carry their memory forward.

🐾 Meet Lia & Apache – Our May Pets of the Month!

Lia has been part of the family since 2018, after being rescued from an illegal breeding operation in Miami. She’s the queen of sass, rocking one blue eye and one brown eye thanks to her striking heterochromia. Lia lives for snacks but loves stirring up mischief even more—especially if it means keeping her sisters on their toes. If she’s giving you the stink eye, you’ll know it’s coming from the brown one. And just when she’s been freshly groomed and gleaming white… that’s her cue to go dig a hole in the backyard.

Apache joined the crew in 2022 and is just happy to be here! She’s curious about everything—passersby, lizards, squirrels—you name it. Her true passion, though? Kisses 💋. If you’re petting her, expect her to twist herself into a pretzel just to sneak in a few thank-you licks. She’s also the most vocal of the bunch, “awoo-ing” her many opinions—especially around mealtime 🍽️.

Together, they’re like Pinky and the Brain—if both were covered in floof and determined to take over your heart (and furniture). Their newest sidekick is Bryn, a 6-year-old pit bull mix who might not shed like her sisters, but makes the perfect playmate for this dynamic duo 💕

💜🐾 It’s Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week 🐾💜
And we are feeling extra grateful for the incredible crew holding down our front desk.

Rebecca and Jessica have been our anchors—handling chaos calmly, remembering every face (furry and human), and keeping us all organized on the busiest days. They’ve shown up day after day with patience, kindness, and that efficiency we all admire.

And now, we’re lucky to have Emi and Kayla joining the team. Quick learners, cool under pressure, and bringing fresh energy that fits right in with the TOAH vibe.

Our CSRs are the first hello, the last goodbye, and the friendly in-between that holds it all together. We truly couldn’t do what we do without them and wouldn’t want to.

If you see them this week, please give them some love. They deserve all of it. 💛

Our boarding guests were serving looks, striking poses, and hopping straight into spring. From egg hunts to bunny ears, we've been having a blast celebrating with these sweet pups. 🐣🎉

We truly love getting to do this kind of thing with our boarders — it's all about the extra love, attention, and just-for-fun moments that make their stay feel like home. 💛

When you check in with our front desk you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly and courteous team members. A member of our veterinary staff will soon meet you in the lobby and bring you to an examination room. At this time we’ll ask a few questions and measure your pet’s vital signs – just like when you go for a visit to your doctor!

A Tuscawilla Oaks Animal Hospital veterinarian will then meet you and your pet and spend some time talking with you to address your concerns, recommend additional diagnostic testing if needed, and create your pet’s individual treatment plan.
