Attention OKC Show Exhibitors!
❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Genesis Canine Reproduction will be in Oklahoma City during the Oklahoma Summer Classic Cluster. We will be OFFSITE for services, in an AirBnB across the major street (catty corner north and west) next to the event center area.
We greatly apologize for the inconvenience and will do our very best to accommodate you if you plan to attend and have no way to transport your dog for his or her appointment “across the street”.
We will be there Wednesday Thursday and Friday, and not be there over the weekend. Full services will definitely be available the first two days by appointment, while semen freezing may not be available Friday pending the weather and demand. We will also be in Dallas the following week as usual for specialty and all-breed days, and be in our usual spot. BOTH SHOWS ARE FAIRLY FULL— if you intend to have Semen Freezing, Semen Analysis, OFA Thyroid, OFA Patellas, OFA Dentition, DAP (vaccine) titers, or other services, we strongly recommend requesting ahead of time. Email, message, or call us even if you aren’t sure yet your plans, as we schedule in order of original request and would rather you have a space if needed!

We have had questions about why we are not on site in OKC so I’d like to address those to the group. We had been a previous vendor in OKC, and had committed and signed a contract for this year. The club had processed our payment for the space and suggested/promised the “same spot” throughout the year by multiple people involved with the show. A few months ago were told out of the blue that our option was to either refund our check or to be in the obedience building. Chatter about “why” was unclear when asking multiple people involved, but one statement we were told was because we had “crowds” around our tent, which functions on a 30 minute by appointment schedule and was NOT BOOKED. We were honestly concerned when arriving last year we would not be busy enough and were not as full as we have been lately. Of course, the show itself had issues with rescheduling judges due to illnesses on people with significant assignments, so one day we had some rearrangement and a few clients needing services late in the day around 5-6pm who sat outside of empty rings patiently waiting and not creating “traffic”. Im sure a few people sitting in chairs around empty rings at 6pm was not an issue. A busy ring entrance used for the nonsporting club shows was immediately across from our tent which probably was where the traffic they imagined came from. We were never told this during the event or after for 9 months time, or asked to adjust anything which would be the practice approach for adjusting something so simple. We would have been happy to move to a slightly different spot or police people not to stand around even if not our clients.
We ourselves had 6 dogs entered for the week, and our booth was CLOSED for hours of the day which also would have produced a lack of “crowd”. We also didn’t use an additional 5 feet of space on the end the club sort of just gave us, which was connected to a large grooming aisle. I also would like to mention I provided a free reproduction seminar last year for benefit of the club and its exhibitors, blocking out time clients could have used for services. Other “reproduction” technician based vendors even attended our seminar to learn and listen. No matter how you slice it, we are frankly confused and quite upset that the area will be served on site exclusively by technician based reproduction trucks who have driven from days away, vs supporting a local veterinarian who serves THEIR STATE and ITS EXHIBITORS AND CLUB MEMBERS for the exact same semen services.
We obviously opted to withdraw our vendor spot because being in the obedience building is inconvenient for our primary client base, inconvenient for us as conformation exhibitors, and would provide absolutely no “walk by” opportunities for clients who are not already familiar with our OFA and Semen services. Not to mention make the performance building exhibitors who wish to avoid bi***es in season unhappy. Based on the issues described, I will be reluctant to provide on site services again at Oklahoma City for this show. When they out of the blue gave us an ultimatum after cashing our check and 9 months of communication, we had to do damage control because we were ALREADY BOOKING when they brought all of this forward. It was definitely a headache.
Sorry for the novel! We just want to make sure to relay the information. It has been an unfortunate thing to navigate. Thanks to everyone who we’ve scheduled already— we have been overwhelmed with your kindness and happiness to adjust to this inconvenient situation! You guys rock!
