UPDATE ON KEVIN! Thanks to your generosity, we were able to get Kevin the lifesaving surgery he needed. The doctor had to open FOUR different places in his intestines to locate and remove a few different foreign bodies, including the wires, some fabric and rope, and other unidentifiable objects that certainly didn't belong in his belly and were blocking his GI tract. He is doing well at home, and looks super cute in his cone. His owner is keeping a super close eye on him and is so grateful to everyone who helped save Kevin's life. Thank you to our FAMily for showing up as you always do to help those in need!

FAMily, we desperately need your help to save this puppy’s life. Poor Kevin is only 7 months old and he has been eating things he shouldn’t. He has eaten an HDMI cable and some other unknown object that is firm, and has fabric. These are blocking his intestines and it is life threatening. In addition to that, the wires inside of the cable have frayed and may potentially be perforating his intestines. This is a terrible situation and the only way to save his life is through an exploratory surgery to remove the objects and repair any damage.
Kevin’s owner is a young woman and she does not have the financial means to cover these costs but she loves her puppy.
Hospitalization and all the blood tests and X-rays and medications, nursing care and treatments are already at $1200 and we anticipate at least another $2200 for surgery. We need your help to raise $3400 through our Sam & Wanda Fund. You can use the link below or you can call our office directly to make payment on Kevin’s account. Please share and donate if you can. We will provide updates as soon as we can. And we appreciate how you always show up for those in need.
Donate at this link www.paypal.me/samandwanda or call 918-609-6111 to pay directly on his account.

Funds needed…🥺❤️🩹 PLEASE SHARE!!!
Mellow is currently 1 of 4 medical cats we have in our program with gastrointestinal issues. His bill alone is currently: $1,742. Can you spare a few dollars to help with offset his medical expenses?
Mellow has more good days than bad at this point, but he is still on his prescription food and a few medications. His case is pricey, but he is so worth it. Such a perfect and sweet boy. Please consider donating towards his care and the others just like him. Can’t donate? Please share him. When he is well enough for adoption, his adoption fee will still be $70…but until then, we’re doing everything we can to cover his medical needs.
Donations can be sent to the following:

‼️⚠️RABIES ALERT: ⚠️‼️
Last week there was a confirmed case of rabies in Tulsa in a dog that was involved in biting a person. Tulsa Animal Services put out an alert which we will link to below. While it is unfortunate this occurred, and it is not cause for alarm, it does provide an opportunity for us to remind the public that rabies exposure can and does still occur. Your pets should be vaccinated against rabies because it will help to protect them and you from this preventable but fatal and incurable disease. And, it is also required by state law and city ordinance for your pets. We encourage you to call our office to check the status of your pets' most recent rabies vaccine.
We also applaud the efforts of Tulsa Animal Services and the Oklahoma State Department of Health for their quick and thorough response to this situation, as well as TAS efforts to coordinate upcoming vaccine clinics to help protect local pets.
You can read more about the incident here: https://www.cityoftulsa.org/press-room/city-working-with-the-state-department-of-health-osdh-following-positive-rabies-case-in-area-dog/

Out of an abundance of caution with the upcoming blizzard like conditions, and for the safety of our staff and our clients, we have made the decision to CLOSE Tuesday 2/18. We may have a delayed opening or a full closure on Wednesday 2/19, but it will be dependent on the timing of the storm and how much work the roadcrews can do before opening time Wednesday. These temps and conditions will be LIFE-THREATENING for pets and people. Please make sure you bring any outdoor pets INSIDE at least to a garage with proper bedding, shelter and fresh water. As a reminder, animal cruelty is a felony in Oklahoma and leaving pets outdoors in these conditions is illegal. Please be safe, stay warm and we appreciate your understanding.

Our pets are family. And family deserves the best.
Dr. Gena Guerriero and Dr. Jenny Nobles founded Family Animal Medicine in 2012 with that very idea as their core principle.
Focused on caring for the pets who make our families whole, Drs. Nobles and Guerriero have worked hard to incorporate their values into the day to day operations at FAM. Our staff is committed to providing our patients and clients with the best possible care.
Family Animal Medicine provides full-service veterinary care for small animals at our hospital in Owasso, Oklahoma. Our clients come from surrounding communities for the care and services of our staff at FAM. Beyond our doctors and technicians, we offer boarding and playcare, as well as spa days and grooming with our new groomer, Jen.
Dr. Nobles and Dr. Guerriero are the founding doctors of Family Animal Medicine. Dr. Guerriero completed her undergrad at the University of Sacramento and then went on to study abroad in Scotland before graduating with her DVM in 2000 from Oklahoma State University. Dr. Nobles received both her undergrad and then in 2007, her DVM from Oklahoma State University. In 2012 they founded Family Animal Medicine. Since then we have added two additional and incredible doctors, Dr. Carmin Bieberly and Dr. Kyle Albin. Dr. Bieberly is from Kansas and a 2004 graduate of Kansas State University Veterinary School. Dr. Bieberly joined us in 2016 and brings a unique skill set to our practice with orthopedic surgeries in addition to general veterinary medicine. Dr. Kyle Albin is an Owasso native who attended Oklahoma State University for both his undergrad and DVM where he graduated in 2017 after studying both small and large animal medicine. We are so grateful for these four incredible doctors who practice medicine caring for the pets of FAM. As a clinic we focus on preventative medicine, perform elective, routine and life-saving surgeries, help treat chronic cases and work to save emergent patients.
We are proud to focus on our patients and the clients who love them. We place communication at the forefront of our practice, and we take fewer appointments than many clinics and hospitals so that we can spend more time with pets and their people. We are proud to be entrusted with the care of so many animals in our community and look forward to the continued growth of our FAMily.
