ADOPTED!!!!

Pacey is available for adoption through our partner rescue Safe Hands Animal Rescue. He’s about 4 months old and 25 #. Walks great on a leash. Potty training is going well. Sleeps great in his kennel at night and when his foster (he is fostered here in Owatonna) goes to work. Loves to chase and wrestle with his foster siblings. He would love a family that is active and maybe even another larger playful pup. And preferably no cats. If you’re interested in go to
https://safehandsrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/
And see all the wonderful pups looking for a loving home.

Introducing Duke!

I came to my Foster at no fault of my own. I am such a sweet old soul. I love to cuddle with my people and just want all the snacks and love ❤️ . I do well with cats and female dogs. I am a little selective with certain male dogs. I am laid back would love a home where I can chill and lay in the sun. I do well with older kids, but I haven't been around younger kids so my Fosters don't know how I'll do. I do great on walks and really well in the car. I am a big healthy boy at 77 pounds but my Foster family is working on getting my weight down to a healthy weight.

Tuesday tidbits!

October is Animal Safety and Protection Month.
Here are some tips to keep both wild and companion animals safe this autumn:

Halloween Candy Safety: Keep all candy, especially chocolate and wrappers, out of reach of companion animals. Chocolate can be toxic to dogs and cats.

Avoid Fake Cobwebs: Skip the synthetic decorations as they can entangle wildlife like birds and bats, leading to injury or death.

Pumpkin Precautions: While carved pumpkins can be safe for wildlife and sanctuary residents if the gourds are paint-free and not moldy, avoid giving uncooked or moldy pumpkin pieces to your dogs and cats, as they can cause health issues.

Glow Stick Dangers: Glow sticks contain an oily liquid that can cause hypersalivation, frothing, and foaming along with possible aggressive and hyperactive behavior in animals. Keep them out of reach!

Costume Considerations: Companion animals are not props for your Halloween costume. Many animals find them uncomfortable. Additionally, the outfits can have chewable parts or objects that could come off and choke them, creating a dangerous and even deadly situation.

Candle Cautions: Lit candles pose fire risks and can be toxic to birds if they’re scented. Always keep them out of reach of curious animals who share your home.

Antifreeze Awareness: If you keep anti-freeze handy for the upcoming cold months, store it securely, as even a small amount can be lethal to animals.

Tick Season Vigilance: Autumn is tick season! Use natural repellents and check you and your companion after outdoor adventures in the leaves to keep them tick-free.

Respect Leaf Habitats: Fallen leaves provide essential shelter and food for many small creatures. If you rake, consider relocating leaves to garden beds to support local wildlife.
