It is with a heavy heart that we announce we will be closing Hullabaloo Farm Sanctuary in the near future. We are currently in the process of finding new, safe, forever homes for our four large animals: our pair of year old Holstein Steers (Rocket & Groot) and our pair of 3 year old pigs (Jubilee & Logan). The sanctuary will remain open until new homes are found for them. Our ducks and roosters will remain in the personal care of our Founder and Executive Director, Tiffany.

While there are numerous reasons for the closure, we'd prefer to remain focused on how grateful we are that we got the chance to be a part of the farm animal rescue world and do the work we've done for the past 3+ years. We couldn't have done that without the support and love of all of you, so THANK YOU!

We will keep you all updated on the rehoming and closure processes through our social media platforms. Donations will continue to be accepted until we are officially closed and will continue to be applied 100% towards the care of the animals. Any excess funds at closure will be donated to other nonprofit farm animal sanctuaries, per our bylaws.

Thank you again for being our Hullabaloo Heroes. We are sad it's coming to an end, but so appreciate the journey you all allowed us to take!

Yesterday, we were contacted by an employee of a local farm store about a baby chick with an injured leg. They were looking to surrender the chick to a sanctuary in the hooes it would receive medical care. While we couldn't offer a forever home at HQ, we were able to connect with Briarwood Farm Sanctuary and they agreed to take the chick in! So, we ran out and picked up the little one and got them all set up in a makeshift brooder in our bathroom until we can get her/him moved to Briarwood. We're happy to report that, despite the injury, the chick is doing really well so far!

However, this little ball of feathered fluff is going to need some serious medical care that comes with some serious costs. Briarwood has already consulted with their vet and has an appointment for this little one set up. It's looking like there is a chance the injured leg will need to be amputated if it can't be set. We have no doubt this little one is a fighter and can have a long and happy life ahead! Even with just one working leg, there's no slowing them down at all!

We get a lot of interesting Superheroes visiting HQ, but today's Emu guest topped the list. He was only here long enough for us (with the help of our local sheriffs) to figure out where he lived and arrange for his owners to give him a lift home, but it was a fun visit while it lasted!

Studies show that the biggest impact each of us can make towards saving our planet doesn't require buying an electric car, walking to work, or tossing out all your single use plastics (although we encourage all of those things as well). Adopting a vegan diet provides a 76% reduction in land use for food production.

Would it be wonderful if we all stopped eating meat and dairy today? Of course! However, we recognize that's easier said than done. But you can take the first step towards a healthier and more compassionate planet today. Commit to cooking one vegan meal a week. Switch to a plant-based milk alternative next time you go to the store (we love oat milk here at HQ). Check out a local vegan restaurant next time you go out for a meal. Start small, but start.
