What’s the story with the name?

We wanted a name that was unique. We love coffee and we love basset hounds. So we decided to combine them.

Bassets are incredibly sweet, loyal, and lovable yet incredibly stubborn. That stubbornness manifests itself in the concept of a flat basset. When a basset has had enough, they lay down. It could be on the sidewalk a mile from home or in the middle of the street. It doesn’t matter. When they’re done, they’re done, and the phenomenon is called “flat basset”.

It’s also a name we used to refer to how our bassets lay -completely flat on the ground with their back legs out behind them. The logo is based on a picture of one of our bassets in the flat basset position.

That’s it - just a combination of two things we love for a unique name.
