The New Year is just a few days away! Here are our top pet safety tips so you can welcome in 2024 as safely as pawsible:

-Keep all pets indoors
-Make sure pets have an ID and are chipped
-Keep human food and alcohol away from your pet, and relay to any guests of this as well
-Keep your pet in a cozy area with music or a TV on. These sounds help to drown out any party noises and/or fireworks.

This lil cutie is Oreo. She presented to us back in October for sudden onset of coughing and increased respiratory noise. She had been chewing on stick around the time of onset but we were uncertain if this was just a coincidence. X-rays were performed with no specific findings. Medications were prescribed for possible upper respiratory infection. Significant improvement was not noted over the course of her medication. It was elected to proceed with rhinoscopy and look what we found!! Miss Oreo had a small fragment of foreign material lodged in her nasal passages. This was likely related to her chewing on the stick around the time of onset. After removal of the foreign material Oreo is back to her happy self and congestion free!

We offer a variety of endoscopy services including upper and lower GI, rhinoscopy, and foreign body removal (both airway and GI). Please feel free to contact us if you feel your pet could benefit from one of these services.

Arthritis is extremely common in pets, especially as they age. Signs of arthritis in pets include (but are not limited to):

-Stiff or swollen joints
-Difficulty standing from a lying position
-Difficulty going upstairs or jumping
-Reduced muscle volume in the rear limbs

Meet Cookie Morgan. After injuring her knee a few months ago, her dedicated owners have brought her in weekly for her laser therapy sessions. As you can see Cookie is doing great and looks forward to these visits every week! If you have a pet suffering from arthritis pain or an injury ask our staff today about the benefits of laser therapy. These sessions can really help alleviate pain and discomfort and get your pets back on there four furry feet more quickly!
