Well, it looks like we're now part of the grand American business tradition of using the phrase 'before the fire'. The unit we used to keep stock and show equipment was affected by a fire at the local self-storage on Thursday. Until yesterday all we had to go by was 'total loss' which, to be fair, could've meant a lot of things.
Now the street in front of the self-storage has been unblocked and from what we can tell the area where our unit was is pretty much burned to the ground, and whatever's left will be rained on all weekend until we're allowed to get to it on Tuesday. So 'total loss' it is.
Luckily we've recently moved a lot of stuff to the garage or had it there for stock take. However what was in the storage unit was the stuff we stocked the deepest. All of Tiger except the Spanish-American War, all of Ainsty, North Star and Arcane's animals, Gaslands, most of the rules, and some other bits and pieces are all probably a rather strange puddle in the rubble.
We're not sure yet how this will affect us in the future, especially until we learn how the insurance will work out. What was lost was probably a majority of our stock in monetary terms, but mostly only sold at shows; which, for family health reasons, we can't attend for the foresee-able future. So this could be an 'opportunity' to adjust our business model. We'll see.
So thank you for your business and please excuse the changes coming to the site in the near future. We'll be taking a bunch of pages down until we decide what to restock and get it in. Just remember we can still get anything from Tiger and Ainsty, and just about anything from North Star, all you have to do is ask.
It'll just take a bit longer.
