The Feline Rescue Association is a local Non Profit cat rescue rescue organization operating out of foster homes in the Baltimore area. We work with stray, abandoned and feral cats through rescue, adoption, and spay/neuter. We also assist low-income individuals with spaying and neutering the cats they care for. Founded June 2007, the Feline R

escue Association works with street cats in some of the worst neighborhoods in Baltimore. We also pull cats who are facing euthanasia as space allows. The majority of our cats are kept in private foster homes. To adopt or foster please email [email protected] To support our efforts please go to https://paypal.me/baltimorecats?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US

Remember Lisa? She had her eye surgery 2 weeks ago to repair an injury that had ruptured her eye at some point outside.

All looked well post surgery until a few days ago when it appeared bloody. Per Dr McMichael at Timonium Animal Hospital: "It looked like there was granulation tissue along the lateral aspect and it may be scarring down again.โ€

Dr McM saw her this morning and was 50/50 on whether her eye would heel properly long term. Lisaโ€™s body was overproducing inflammatory cells which was causing problems.

We were also concerned about her ability to be adopted. Her eye would never look normal and we canโ€™t be sure there wouldnโ€™t be issues down the road.

She decided it best to remove the eye in order to give her the best chance of finding a forever home and high quality of life. She had it removed today since McM had an opening in her surgery schedule.

Thank you to Show Your Soft Side for helping cover the cost of these surgeries! Please help use replenish this vital resource that helps homeless kitties.

Lisa is available for adoption through The Feline Rescue Association

FRA sadly announces the passing of one of the best. Our beloved Cindy Ciarpella lost her long battle with cancer last night.

Everyone that knew Cindy loved her so much. She was one of the most kindhearted people in the world. Her tireless efforts in rescue were un-waivering, even after she was diagnosed many years ago.

Cindy was one of the original Park Heights Animal Welfare volunteers and Board Member at The Feline Rescue Association since its founding.

Cindy was a huge part of the lives of the many cats that she saved (and maybe a racoon or six, a rat here and there, and many more critters). She trapped, saved and adopted out *hundreds of cats.

Cindy was dedicated to TNR, the cats, and the communities she helped. Her tireless efforts in cat rescue for over 20 years will be remembered long after today.

Many true and long lasting friendships came from working with Cindy. She could always make you laugh, and was a ninja at dodging having her picture taken! Together with Colleen, Erin, and Joan, you could find them in the craziest places trapping, feeding, and always always laughing.

We love you Cindy and you will always be in our hearts.

Donations in Cindy's name can be made to The Feline Rescue Association for the ongoing care of the cats she loved.

Our Story

Please direct all inquiries to [email protected] The Feline Rescue Association is a 501(c)(3) rescue organization operating out of foster homes in the Baltimore area. We work with stray, abandoned and feral cats through rescue, adoption, and spay/neuter. Founded June 2007, the Feline Rescue Association works with street cats in some of the worst neighborhoods in Baltimore. We also pull cats who are facing euthanasia as space allows. The majority of our cats are kept in private foster homes. Donate if you can! It takes a good bit of money feeding the feral and abandoned cats in Park Heights as well as keeping up with our numerous vet bills, vetting these poor cats so they can get into their forever homes. When our pantry is low and money is tight a great many of our amazing volunteers pay out of pocket monthly to feed and vet some of these cats along the Park Heights route, that cost can be $400 + per month just for one volunteer and there are many.
