First, let me say, I've been canning for years! This is my first attempt at grape juice. 🍇 I pumped up the flock about them getting some yummy grape pulp and got to work. 🐤🐣🐓 And that's where the positively ended. 🤣🤣
When something gives me a hard time, I go harder. 💪 But, these little tiny grapes beat me. They won. Pure defeat. I'm still picking grapes out of my chandelier. My food mill that I've used for years waged a war with me. I fought back. I gave it everything I had. Clog after clog, explosions and splashes, walls, ceilings, my pride, ruined.
It was so bad at one point that I was crying and laughing at the same time. 🤣😭 Stay tuned for part 2 with bloopers. Yes, I said bloopers. This reel wasn't the bloopers. 🤣🤣
Sooooooo if anyone can recommend a great electric perfect, easy to use food mill that can handle grapes, I would appreciate it. 🤩🤣

🤔 I'm trying to decide if I want to caption this with satire or if I should use this moment to remind myself that farm chores don't take a day off.
💓 Our animals need us, every day, (my) attitude or not 😆, it gets done. At the end of the day, I feel extremely blessed for our lives and the lives of all our critters here. I wouldn't change a thing. Attitude aside, mornings are my very favorite part of the day. 🥰🥰
😮 I've done chores with broken ribs (on 2 different occasions), blizzards, 2 days after surgery, covid, and a stitched on partially severed finger. Pms pfffft. That's nothing. 😉🤣 And I still managed to snuggle half the flock. Coffee breath and all. 😅

Winner winner chicken dinner! 🤍 I've participated in the Shiawassee County Fair for years as a kid, showing pigeons. 🐦 Once we moved to our farm during covid, my hubs got bit by the show bug, too! 🐴
Each year, he enters a scarecrow and brings home the blue ribbon. 💙🏆So this year, I pulled out a rag quilt I made and entered it, too! 🧵🪡
We visited after judging was done. Again, my hubs had a blue ribbon! 👏 👏 👏 Mine, not so much. There was SO MANY BEAUTIFUL QUILTS, all deserving of a ribbon! So I wasn't disappointed to see that I didn't win anything. The Fair wrapped up, and today was pick up day. Awwww, it turns out my flag quilt won third in "original design." And I got my ribbon after all! Shiawassee County Fair Thanks!

Chicken treat cupcakes 🧁🪱🪰🦗
Makes 3 dozen big fat cupcakes
Recipe:
2 cups water
3/4 cup Molasses or Karo Syrup
6 packets of unflavored gelatin
10 cups Kalmbach Henhouse Reserve
2 cups GrubTerra black solider fly larvae
Frosting drizzle
6 tablespoons corn starch
3/4 cup water
1 tsp honey
Natural food coloring
In a saucepan over medium heat, mix water and gelatin until dissolved. Add the Molasses/Karo Syrup and mix well. Pour warm mixture over grains/larvae and mix thoroughly.
Place cupcakes wrappers in a cupcake tray and fill with the mix. Pack it in tightly. For the rounded top, use an ice cream scoop or measuring cup. Cool in fridge or freezer for 30min - 1 hour.
Remove "cupcakes" from pan and let them air dry for a week. Mix frosting drizzle ingredients and drizzle on top.
Remove cupcake wrapper and serve to your flock.

🐣😂 I've heard old wives tales about choosing eggs that are hen/rooster but as a seasoned breeder and professional chick hatcher, they just don't hold water, even tho I wish they did. I'm happy with any dumpling that hatches here. 🥰🥰
