Our mission is to save dogs from overpopulated shelters and areas across the southern parts of the United States. We are dedicated to finding quality, loving, committed forever homes for each animal we bring into our care and provide a better future for them and our adopters. We follow a comprehensive adoption process which includes an extensive adoption application to find a good match and educat

ing prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. All dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all age appropriate vaccinations and proper veterinary care prior to going to their new home. We have a wonderful foster base to help house, train and love our dogs while they await to find their perfect humans. We assist dogs in need without regards to age, breed, or ease of placement and we strive to keep our operating costs low so that funds brought into our rescue go directly back into the care of our animals and our mission to save more.

Approx. 5 years old | ~45 lbs | Sweet, affectionate, and full of love

Matilde is an absolute gem of a girl with a heart as big as her smile. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and playful, and gets along beautifully with all people and other dogs. She truly just loves being near her humans. 💕

Matilde’s journey hasn’t been easy. She came into our partner rescue’s care pregnant during a severe flood in 2022. Despite everything she endured, she was a devoted mama and raised her babies safely. All of her puppies were adopted into loving homes here in the States… but Matilde was left behind, patiently waiting for her own chance.

That chance is finally here. ✨

I had the privilege of meeting Matilde in person, and she is truly something special. She followed me all around the refuge, happy just to be close to people, soaking up attention and giving gentle affection. She has a calm, loving presence and an incredibly kind soul.

Now Matilde is ready to start her next chapter — whether that’s in a foster home or a forever home here in Maine. Could that be with you? 🏡💛

Breed: Wheaten Terrier mix

Gustavo’s journey started on the streets of the Bahamas in October 2024, where he was found suffering from severe mange and a double eye infection. Like so many island dogs, he had been neglected — but that’s all behind him now. 💛 Gustavo has made a full recovery and is ready to start his next chapter.

This handsome guy is a total ladies’ man — he adores female dogs and does well with calm, relaxed male dogs too. He absolutely loves people, and once he’s comfortable, his silly, charming personality shines through.
