Little man Steele is doing wonderful! We are hopeful that his seizures were just a one time acute thing! He has been seizure free for almost 48 hours🙌🏽
He’s acting playful as a normal 10 week old puppy should and he’s a little fighter! Thank you to our awesome support system for sending your prayers donations and love! We also want to thank Dr Ortiz and her team at Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine for getting his seizures under control as well as Dr Kinney and his team at Gray Animal Center for the continued care and support for Steele!
Send prayers now to his foster mom who will never sleep again 🤣🤣 Sorry Shallon. It takes an entire village and community, and we are forever blessed for ours ❤️ thank you all!

4pm update: Steele is still currently being cared for in Lewiston at the emergency clinic. Dr Ortiz has been fabulous with explaining things and keeping us updated on his status. His prognosis is still guarded and we still do not know what is causing the seizure activity. He is currently slightly sedated to try to calm his mind and give his body some relief while we see if the medications will work. He is having seizures about every 15 minutes. He has had a complete work up for CBC, chemistry panel, urinalysis and drug test to make sure he didn’t get into anything he shouldn’t have. His Potassium and sodium levels are drastically low so once we can get his seizure activity back under control we will work on slowly bringing these levels up. If brought up too quickly he could die. With these level being so low could be what is causing it but we won’t know until we get them back into normal range. Dr Ortiz will recheck his levels around 7pm and this will help give us a better idea of how he is doing. Please continue to pray for this little guy. He needs it!!!
Steele is at the emergency vet in Lewiston with sudden onset seizure activity. At just 10 weeks old we are not sure why he is starting to have them. He barely recovers from one seizure when another starts. Blood sugar looks normal, we are doing further testing and blood work up to see if we can determine the cause. He is just a baby! Any help towards this Unexpected bill is so appreciate. We need to fight with Steele! Copy of bill estimate in the comments of this post estimated cost is between $1,300 and $1,700
Lucy and Zola are new friends
If you haven’t been following us very long you may not know how HUGE this moment is. Lucy has always been dog selective and reactive. For 4 years she has had to do a lot of activities alone. Today we took her for a walk with Zola and it went FABULOUS! We will continue these walks with hopes this can turn into free roam yard play! This moment made us cry! Lucy is amazing and deserves to have companionship with another 4 legged.
