Sadly, Charlie was put down today. His breathing had progressively worsened and he could no longer chew hay due to lack of teeth. Charlie was 26 years old. That's a great life for a horse. He had a perfect day today filled with green grass, time with his girlfriend Maggie (horse not human 😉), and lots of treats and snuggles. He died painlessly without any struggle. Thank you, McNutt Equine Veterinary for your compassionate care throughout Charlie’s time with us and for giving him a dignified end.

Charlie was the first horse we brought to the ranch 8 years ago. He was sweet and sometimes spicy. He LOVED to be petted and loved on. He was our resident lawn mower the past 2 years, much to Matt Krieger’s chagrin. 🤣He taught many kiddos how to ride, especially ones that needed to learn how to sit a trot. (If you’ve ridden Charlie, you know!) 😆 He took us on many beautiful trails and gave us so much joy here on the ranch. We will miss him dearly, but we’re relieved that he is at peace after a beautiful, long life.

🌟STATE FAIR🌟

Everyone did fantastic at state fair — we are so proud of all of you!

Ethan was champion in 11th grade trail & reserve grand champion in senior hunter under saddle, Bella won reserve champ in 9th grade trail, Liv won champ in 12th grade trail and got a purple in poles, Ellie made it to the junior finals in both ranch walk trot and ranch pleasure, Elsie placed 4th in a TOUGH showmanship class, Lily was 2nd blue in English walk trot, Kendall recieved blues in both of her ranch classes, and Brooklyn recieved a blue in a tough ranch walk trot 🥳 trainer Maggie Dale also made it to the finals (top 15) in the cowgirl queen contest out of 60+ riders!
