What a GREAT weekend! We didn’t bring home the ribbons but we definitely attempted to and like always learned something new!!! A LOT of awesome dogs as well as trainers/breeders at this one! Cajun Bully Classic didn’t disappoint! Thanks to all the judges and especially to our Mississippi Bully Family for the support!!

There is a reason bullies are expensive. These are not dogs that live in the back yard, eat Old Roy, and when the female come into heat she gets pregnant by your male while you’re at work. Eight weeks later you don’t come home to a pile of cash nursing on the mom and just have to wait another 8 weeks for that tidy sum to mature so you can cash in.

Each year breeders spend tens of thousands of dollars on the care and breeding of their dogs. Quality food, vet bills, supplies... When we have puppies they don’t leave our sight for the first 3 weeks or more... we call it because we don’t sleep. We monitor nursing (every two hours, 7 days a week for 3 weeks or more), we bottle feed, we tube feed. We pour ourselves into these tiny little lives to the point where we become sick. We cancel our lives: vacations, school plays, weddings, anniversaries, births and birthdays... everything is on hold when we have puppies.
When we don’t have babies we still have the daily upkeep of our dogs. We also use this time for research, training and further educating ourselves so that we can produce the healthiest babies possible.
So, yes, we work our butts off keeping these amazing babies not only alive, but healthy, well adjusted and ready for their new families.

Announcement #2.. we received a package all the way from California last night!
Introducing our blue brindle boy.. Tayo.. he is 11 weeks old and making himself right at home. OBK has a lot of work ahead of us this new year but we are excited for this wonderful journey we are embarking upon.

Over the weekend OBK & BMB made great strides..we acquired this picture perfect female pocket.. her name is Sweet Luna. She’s 2 years old and has the temperament of an angel 😇. We are looking forward to what 2020 holds for this girl! Y’all help us welcome her to Mississippi!

Good times! GREAT people! The support, help and encouragement I saw from the Mississippi bully community this weekend was absolutely inspiring! Huge shout to to my MS bully family, Eric Rhoades for putting the show on, the judges who judged, and the ABKC!! Can’t wait to learn from these shows and watch this community grow and show out this year!!

Nala was unable to attend the ABKC show yesterday because we didn’t want to distract all the boys 😂 but she was with us for the whole ride and she sure has enjoyed her leisure weekend with her BFF Lola ❤️
