The Dog Life of Pandora and Logan

Logan and I (Pandora) are rescues from Tunica Humane Society. I (Logan) was rescued by Melissa and Ms Sandy along with my siblings and parents. last month.

We are very lucky dogs because Anna and Ron are the best parents and Ms Sandy made sure we went to a good home. This is my story as told by Ms Sandy:

When I became aware of the mother dog and her puppies living on the streets in Charleston, I knew we had to help him. There wasn't any help in sight. We've been to Charleston before and rescued some precious dogs from their makeshift dog pound. And

it seems things have only gone from bad to worse for the homeless dogs of Charleston since that time. So we rescued Nala and her beautiful puppies from the streets. We even made the drive back to Charleston one night and rescued the daddy dog, Morgan. Now this sweet little family of dogs has HOPE in their eyes.. I was very proud of Melissa today. She overcame her fear of culverts.. As soon as the pup darted into the culvert, I knew we had him. I told Melissa I would take the hit if she would crawl into the pipe and force the puppy into my reach...

Melissa came out of the pipe smiling. Can't say the same for me. But it was great team work! We got our little wild pup. On the drive back to Tunica, Melissa sat in the back with our little pup, so he would feel safe and secure. By the time we reached the shelter, they were best friends....

Nugget (Logan) is the most precious little puppy. He still struggles with trust so he is going to need a very understanding family. Five of the Charleston pups are very independent but little Nugget continues to stay by her mother's side. They find their courage in each other! Nugget is the last of the puppies rescued from Charleston, Ms. All of his siblings have been adopted to loving homes in New England. But Nugget has lacked their confidence from the start. I saw early on, that his siblings picked on him. That made Nugget much more fearful and defensive from the start. He clung to his mommie for protection and they are extremely close still today. This sweet puppy needs lots of tender care. He reminds me so much of Pandora, a very fearful pup we rescued years ago. We finally found Pandora the perfect forever home and I know we will find that perfect family for Nugget too. We want him to feel safe and secure all the days of his life. His family has to be very special. Now you know the rest of the story, why Ms Sandy called Anna and Ron and why I have a new friend…. Pandora

Anna drove to Atlanta to meet Mr. Tom Lewis’s son who was transporting me. They had no idea what we were in for. I am so thankful she did. I am also thankful for my new Sister Pandora. Her story is a little longer. Ms Sandy wrote this biography of me(Pandora) and she did a wonderful job. In November, 2016,

People look at Pandora and have to wonder... How can such a beautiful dog be lingering in a shelter....

Pandora first came to our shelter when she was just a puppy. She had been surviving in an apartment complex in Tunica, hiding in the bushes and sleeping under the stairways. She didn't have a family and everyone in the complex tormented her. The children chased her with sticks and threw rocks at her. The day the deputy brought her to us, she has been doused with hot water because she was hiding behind an air conditioner unit and the lady was trying to chase her away. The thing that has never left my mind was how Pandora would scream every time we tried to touch her. I remember giving her a bath that first day because she was caked in her own f***s and she bit my arm several times. In all my years of rescue, I had never seen a puppy as terrified of humans as Pandora. Each day was a challenge with her but we finally began to make some progress overcoming her fears. Pandora was the most beautiful puppy and everyone wanted to adopt her. Her eyes told the story of her tormented start in life. To this day, Pandora still has the most soulful, sad eyes. Before we placed her in a forever home, we felt it was important that she spend some time in a foster home, learning to trust. A wonderful couple from Oxford stepped up to foster her and she blossomed in their care. Shortly after, Pandora was adopted by a family and for the next two years, we thought she was thriving in their home. We received occasional updates and they were always positive and cheerful. That was, until a couple of months ago when I received a call from the Hernando Animal Shelter. They had picked up Pandora because she had been reported as aggressive and the family wanted her removed immediately from their home. It's by the Grace of God that Pandora is back with us now. She could have easily fallen thru the cracks and been euthanized as a bad dog. I am so thankful we were given the opportunity to bring her back into our care at our shelter. I can't begin to tell you how special Pandora is. She has a childlike quality about her that melts your heart. It's no doubt, Pandora needs someone extraordinary in her life. She wears the scars of her past and she always will. She needs only the purest heart to love her. Someone to overlook her imperfections and to accept her for the damaged dog she is. She's different. And that is what makes her so endearing.. Never once has Pandora shown any aggression with us. That's because we know her and all the heartache she has been through. With us, she feels safe. Until we can find a forever family that can make Pandora feel that same sense of security, this precious dog will remain with us, loved beyond measure...Anna and Ron were the perfect furever family for her...

The Adventures of Logan Today:
Ron let us out back to go potty and such. I decided to explore the ice on the lake to where the red X ❌ is. Ron almost had a stroke. I thought it was cool and told him to chill.
After that I decided to lick the snow off the lounge chair cushion. It was yummy.
Then it was time to go for a walk. Anna got our leashes, etc on us and we had to wait for them to put on all that “stuff.” I went over to the powder room small mat to wait because that tile was too cold on my bare butt.
