We encourage visits during your dog's board-and-train program. Visits allow for reconnecting ❤️ welfare checks and witnessing some of the training. We also benefit because we are afforded a glimpse of how your dog will behave when reuniting with you during the final turnover lesson.

The Fourth of July is a time for celebration, but it can be quite the opposite for our dogs. The loud fireworks and bustling crowds can be very stressful for dogs. Here are some tips to keep your pup safe and calm during the festivities:

1. Create a Safe Space: Set up a quiet, escape-proof area at home where your dog can feel secure. Include their favorite toys and a comfy bed.

2. Use Calming Aids: To soothe their nerves, consider using calming wraps, pheromone diffusers, or calming treats. Consult with your vet about the best options.

3. Distract and Engage: Keep your dog busy with interactive toys or a long-lasting chew to help them focus on something other than the noise.

4. Keep Them Indoors: To reduce the risk of your dogs running away or getting injured during fireworks, keep them inside and make sure all windows and doors are secure.

5. Update Identification: Ensure your dog’s ID tags and microchip information are up to date in case they do manage to escape.

6. Desensitization: While it's too late for this year, next year, try to acclimate your dog to the sounds by playing recorded fireworks at low volume and gradually increasing it.

Let’s make this Fourth of July enjoyable for everyone in the family, including our dogs! 🐶❤️
