Our hearts go out to everyone affected by yesterday’s storm. We are absolutely heartbroken to see the devastation in Oxford and surrounding towns. Please know that we’re here to support both you and your pets. If your furry friends need food or supplies during this recovery period, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are committed to helping in any way that we can.

Additionally, if any local farms need temporary placement for your chickens, please contact me, I’m happy to help provide them with a safe space during this stressful time.

We hope to be back open very soon and will keep you updated. If you are unable to get to us, we will find a way to get pet food to you!! Stay strong and be safe today 🩷

**UPDATE** Pending meet & greet!

Schatz- pronounced Shot-zee (meaning darling in German) is a 16 month old purebred German shepherd looking for a new home. Unfortunately she has too much energy for her current owners who are in retirement. She should be the only dog as she’s very loyal to “her people.” Obedient and well mannered around the dinner table and with commands. Loves to play ball and run around. She’s up to date on vaccinations and she just finished her second heat so she will need to be spayed. Located in Southbury. Loki is a 4 year old neutered male who is looking for a quiet home with either no children or older children who will respect his boundaries. He’s a simple guy, just give him a quiet place to rest all day and a few treats and he’ll be your best friend. He has lived with another cat but prefers small dogs or being alone over sharing his space with another feline.

Brian’s previous owners left him behind when they moved. A kind neighbor took him in but unfortunately can’t keep him. We don’t know much about Brian’s history but we do know that he’s a total love! He’s friendly, cuddly, loves kids and all people, the perfect family cat! He’s about a year old and will need to be neutered. We need your help!!!

WILLOW'S PUPPIES turned 8 weeks old last Thursday, March 14th! PLEASE SHARE them far & wide and help us find them their forever homes!

Mom WILLOW is a 70 lb Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. Her baby daddy is a large Great Pyrenees mix. These puppies are going to grow up to be between 75 - 100 lbs.

As of yesterday, March 16th, the puppies all weigh between 14-16 lbs. Baby SIX now weighs 10 lbs!

Puppies 1-6 were born on January 18th, 2024. Puppies 7 & 8 were born during the early hours of January 19th.
Puppies 1, 2, 4, 5, 7 & 8 are males. Puppies 3 & 6 are the only females.

As we stated, these puppies are going to be very large and will need active families and preferably large fenced yards to run around in as well as daily walks and playtime.

They are all very friendly and playful and are being socialized with children, including a toddler. But, due to the fact that they will soon be much larger, we prefer homes without small children simply because of the risk of the child getting knocked over.
The puppies are great with each other and the other dogs in the home, but will do best in homes with dogs who will welcome and be able to handle their puppy shenanigans. If you have small or elderly dogs or cats please consider whether they will want to be terrorized by a giant puppy.

Please note that if you adopt one of these puppies you will need to agree to take them for obedience training and we highly recommend getting pet insurance as well. (You will thank us later...)

Catahoula’s are playful and fun family dogs, but they are also working dogs.

The Great Pyrenees was bred to guard sheep in the mountains. They are generally affectionate and gentle, but if the need arises they can become protective and territorial. They do best with a structured routine, and socialization is extremely important. As a puppy they must be exposed to as many new people, places and situations as possible. This is why training is an absolute must. And adopters must have patience, because the Great Pyrenees can be a bit stubborn...

Bottom line, both the Catahoula and the Great Pyrenees are working dogs and will need mental and physical stimulation to keep them happy. We cannot stress this enough. They are super cute and very sweet, but they are not appropriate for everyone, especially as they grow into extra large adult dogs.

It’s craft night and we’re getting ready for our 6th annual Giving Tree!! This year we will be supporting The Senior Paw Project Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary and we are honored to partner with this incredible organization for a 3rd year in a row. Please join me in bringing these pets and their loving caregivers some Holiday cheer!

How our Giving Tree works: choose an ornament off the tree and purchase a gift of any denomination. Be sure to sign the back of the ornament as it will be gifted to their caregiver along with their pet's gift. We will package everything up for you and deliver before Christmas. If you can't make it in, you can venmo us or give us a call and we'll put something together for you. No pressure, but last year we cleared the tree in 5 days!! Can we do it again?? We have 50 ornaments this year, last year we had 30… but I know many of you wait all year for this, so grab an ornament quick!!

The Senior Paw Project is a Non-Profit organization that honors the bond between senior caregivers and their pets. They have partnered with municipal housing authorities, senior centers, food pantries, and veterinarians. They happily step in to prevent the difficult choice of having to feed themselves or their pets, or foregoing veterinary care due to financial hardship. The Senior Paw Project currently serves 210 pets and expects to be at 250 by Christmas. Although we only have 50 ornaments on our tree, we had little treat bags made up for all 210 pets! Huge thanks to The Seymour High School Transition Program for putting together the treat bags for us!! And thank you to my son Luca for decorating the ornaments ☺️ As always thank you for your support and generosity. Happy Holidays!!
