While delivering pups this weekend, we got a flat tire. At least I was able to get the one pup to the airport but the other two had to be picked up from me while I waited 5 hours at the South Cellular lot at Orlando airport for a new tire. I was so impressed at how well behaved these two were while we waited ♥️ All three are now enjoying their new families. That’s what it’s all about.

GPA Gainesville has a 7 yr old boy that bounced. He'll be 8 in December. The former adopters are older/ in bad health and can't care for him any more. His racing name is BD Jasper (DOB 12/5/16). He is not cat safe. Jasper has separation anxiety and would prefer a human or humans who are home most of the time. The new adopter needs to live in a house, not a condo or apt with shared walls. He's up to date on all his shots and in good health. The group can work with you to get him where you are. For more information, please contact

Looking for a good boarding facility for your dogs in Central Florida? I’m sharing this information.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beltara Kennels began as a show kennel in 1950. In 1976, 48 years ago, we began accepting boarding guests. Your dog is not one of dozens, since we are a boutique kennel with only nine indoor/outdoor covered pens. Inside is heated or cooled as needed to a steady 75°. Outside pens are 1/2 covered in case it should happen to rain while your dog is outside. Nobody needs to get wet.
Please don’t hesitate to give us a call for details about the care that we give our canine guests. We are delighted to show our kennel but everything here is always by appointment since we try not to disrupt the kennel too many times a day.
References for Beltara Kennels...I will gladly send you contact information for some boarding customers who have given me permission to use them as references.
We require proof of up-to-date inoculations for the following…
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo virus, Bordatella (kennel cough) and Canine Flu. Since the Canine Flu inoculation requires two shots, we are OK with accepting a dog after the first shot so long as the second shot is not due before the dog checks out. Second shot is due two weeks after the first and after that is an annual update, like the distemper shot. All dogs must also be flea and worm free.
GPS will get you here quite easily if you enter 37214 Terrell Lane and include our ZIP Code 34788. That will avoid confusion with the other Terrell in the area. My driveway is the first one on the left, between the pine trees, after the pasture.
Oh, and please, please remember to always wear a mask when you come. Thanks. Laurie
Folks, heads up, this is a bad one.
Who decides if your dog - napping happily in his crate - is suffering “psychological harm?"
That dog you are actively grooming while s/he is attached to a grooming arm? To some unknown person, that dog could be suffering mental anguish. How would you feel if they seized your dog - and maybe euthanized him or her?
"Goldie’s Act (HR 1788/S 4033), was just introduced in the U.S. Senate. This awful bill redefines “violations” of the federal Animal Welfare Act and allows for immediate seizure or euthanasia of animals suffering from “psychological harm”, a term it doesn't define; It gets even "better." The bill requires posting of images of violations on a publicly accessible database, and that alone can undermine your property rights.
We all want our animals treated well, but this bill is too arbitrary. In the hands of an animal rights zealot, will be abused. Groomers, heritage breeders, fanciers - average responsible pet owners, no one will be immune.
Maybe you've sat by when we've urged action on other bad bills we've told you about. This isn't a bill to ignore. Learn how to act at the link:
Our Story
Our Story - We Believe in the Preservation of Pure Bred Dogs, especially the American Racing Greyhound
For 17 years we dedicated our lives to finding homes for retired racing greyhounds. During that time we saw the professional racing industry change for the better. With the reduction of breeding and the amount of adoption groups in the U.S., almost 100% of greyhounds are placed into loving homes after racing. One of the greatest American adoption success stories.
To find out more about the industry, we started visiting breeding farms, finishing farms and tracks in several different states in the U.S. What we found were happy dogs that were very well taken care of and loved. What we also saw was the enthusiasm these dogs have for the race. They are working dogs and they love their job! A few years ago, once we felt comfortable about the industry, we decided to buy our first racer. He was two months old and living on a farm in Iowa. Thankfully we lived close enough to visit him once a month for the first year of his life. At the age of one he was sent to a finishing farm, in Kansas, to learn how to race on a track environment. We were able to visit him and watch him at one of his schooling races. What we found, in the racing industry, were very transparent, caring people who love their dogs. Unless you go out and do your own research, you don't know the truth. In the meantime, we acquired a few dozen more racers. We will do everything we can to help to preserve professional racing in the United States. We love it and the dogs love it!
When we were adopting greyhounds, we were told that greyhound puppies were the worst. DON'T ever adopt a greyhound puppy! Now I believe this has been said over the years to get people to adopt an adult retired racer. Totally understandable when there were so many retired racers out there waiting for homes. Now that there isn't a dire need for homes for retired racers, more people have become interested in acquiring a greyhound puppy. Having raised 6 greyhound puppies over the years, we can assure you that greyhound puppies are no worse than any other puppy. As with any puppy, a tired puppy is a good puppy. They are smart and can learn just about anything.
