Looking for a half-leaser for “Middle of Winter”, a 14 year old off-track thoroughbred. He is stabled at Narrin farm in Ortonville, and in training with Leslie Morris who will be the coach of the lucky person who takes up this half-lease. He came to his present owner after six fairly successful years as a racehorse. He was handled kindly his whole life, evidenced by his perfect manners. After retiring from the track sound and with clean legs, he was given the task of babysitting a weanling filly for 2 years before being started as a hunter/jumper. Winter is very smart, likes people, and loves the inside of his ears scratched. Under saddle, tends to the lazy side, requires leg! Super comfortable gaits, has his lead changes, and has a successful show record in both the hunter and jumper rings at the local level. He has been brought along for the last 4 years by a professional rider, and is ready for an intermediate to advanced rider who wants to show up to 2’9”. Horse show season 2024 was as always, great fun and hard work!

Our venues this year were WEC, Rattlewood, Waterloo and Win-A-Gin. Thanks to the show organizers for all their efforts to provide wonderful places to show!

A special thanks to the moms, dads, and significant others who help their riders get ready, behind the scenes! It does not go unnoticed!❤️

Here are some of the highlights of the TVF 2024 show season:

Turtleview’s Narrin Farm location in Ortonville (formerly K Farm) has stalls available for full care board!

Amenities include thick matted stalls, automatic waterers in stalls, radiant heat indoor wash rack, three outdoor wash racks, heated/air conditioned observation room, heated bathroom and utility room, a large indoor arena, a large outdoor arena, riding/walking trails, a camera security system, all day turnout in large grass turnouts, and tack room with designated tack areas and key code access. All pastures have round bales year-round. We feed Tribute Kalm N Ez and Senior Sport, and alfalfa hay.

Board is $725 per month.

Congratulations to Jenna Edwards on her purchase of Norie, a 7 year old Oldenburg mare. Thanks to Empire Farm for introducing us to this girl! We look forward to teaching this sweet, sensible mare how to be a hunter/jumper!

Momma Sandhill Crane & her one chick, at our Narrin Farm location. We see them (dad too) on most days, except when there’s a Redtail Hawk on the telephone pole! One would think that would be a danger to the baby, so they make themselves scarce then.

The first show in the Rattlewood Summer Series is in the books! Special shoutout to Devin O’Conner and Shades Of Victory for their win in the Rattlewood Hunter Classic, as well as champion in the Intermediate Hunter division.

We had a large group of riders, some of whom this was their first show!

Thanks to Jessica and Matador Farm for providing us such a great show & venue.

Available for lease or half lease at our River Forest Farm location in White Lake: Emmy, a beautiful 7 year old thoroughbred mare, 15.3+ suitable for an intermediate rider. She is a quiet mare that likes to jump and requires a rider who can whoa just a tad at the jumps.
She was very calm and quiet when taken to away shows, she just needs miles with the right rider! Please PM Leslie for any details.
