I’m gonna start this with I hope everybody is safe and taking care of themselves. We don’t ask for things expensive things very often, but we are in dire need of air purifiers. I just posted the picture of this one, but it doesn’t have to be this one. The smoke is so bad And my asthma kitties are suffering even through their breathing treatments twice a day. I’m just coming off about of pneumonia so I’m having a hard time breathing too, but mainly it’s for the cats. If anybody can, we would be so grateful if not, I totally understand. Stay safe and wear a mask

The Ventura County Fairgrounds is NOW OPEN as an evacuation center for large animals. Please enter through the Main Gate.

Small animals will be accepted at the Camarillo Shelter (Ventura County Animal Services). For availability, please call (805) 388-4341.

Have you met Merlin and zebra yet? They’ve been with us since they were babies, but for some reason, they haven’t gotten a lot of air time.
These two are in Foster. They are brothers and they’re about six months old now they’re fixed, tested vaccinated and ready to go to their forever home. I’ve had calls from people asking if I had kittens!!
Here ya go!!

Travis and Ryan are available for adoption! They’re extremely sweet, about 10 weeks old, fixed and ready to go to a new home. 😄 Ryan is a talker, and these kittens are so cute, they literally meow with their tongues sticking out like a blep. It’s the most hilarious thing. 🤣

Sephora and Rosie are hoping to find their furever home in 2025. They are a bonded mom and daughter who love playing and napping together. Sephora is just over 2 years old, and Rosie is less than 1.5 years old. They are up to date on their shots and have great litter box manners.

They've been at Surfcat headquarters since September 2023 and would love a home of their own.

😻 Thank you 2024 😻

Here at Surfcat, we don't pull in the kinds of numbers that other rescues do. That’s ok. We are a small, fairly-specific rescue that focuses mostly on senior, medical, and/or behavioral cats. Most (but not all) of our cats are harder to place with adopters. That doesn't mean that they are any less deserving of love and care, though, and that's exactly what they get at Surfcat.

With much appreciation for our supporters, donors, followers, friends, and foster homes, here's a Surfcat recap for 2024:

• we received our first cat-specific sponsor. This monthly donation for Moxie has helped us continue to see that her medical needs are met.

• four major fundraisers were held: one for Asha's dental to help get her in top shape for her adoption, our GivingTuesday fundraiser (before Facebook took it down), and two birthday fundraisers (one from an adopter, and one from a monthly sponsor).

• three adoptions were finalized: Charlie, Rex, and Asha all found their furever homes (we'll post separate updates on each of them later).

• three kittens were rescued: littermates Zebra and Merlin, and Hattie, who was going to be euthanized because of her cleft lip. All 3 are in a foster home and are available for adoption.

• two cats were returned to Surfcat (we will always welcome a cat back), Charlie, who has been adopted again, and Mimi, who is currently in a foster home.

• two Surfcats had to leave us this year: Sushi and Xander, we love and miss you.

To everyone who has donated to us, whether from one of our wishlists, fundraisers, or monthly donations, we can not thank you enough for your support.

To everyone who likes and shares our posts, your contributions are just as important. Since our original page was hacked in 2023, we've lost most of our followers, your shares help get the word out for our rescue. Thank you.

We love what we do here at Surfcat but we can’t do it without the support of our community. Thank you to other rescues who have shared our posts, we are grateful to live in a community where we all work together for the good of the cats.
