Thank you 2025...

Surfcat isn't your typical cat rescue. We don't pull in the big donations. Our original page was hacked in mid-2023 so we've lost most of our social media following. And most of our cats fall into the harder-to-adopt category, so even money coming in from adoptions is not a regular occurrence for us. But every cat deserves a home where they will be safe, fed and loved, and at Surfcat, that's what we provide.

We appreciate all of our supporters, donors, followers, friends, and foster homes. Without all of you, Surfcat simply would not exist.

So here's a Surfcat recap for 2025. Because of you, we accomplished the following:

● several fundraisers were held this year: air purifiers for asthma kitties, insulin syringes for medical kitties, food for IBD kitties, two birthday fundraisers, Moxie's Rainbow Bridge fundraiser, a General Medical fundraiser, and our Giving Tuesday fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraisers this year.

● three kittens who were rescued in 2024 became official foster fails this year: littermates Zebra and Merlin, and Hattie (who was going to be euthanized because of her cleft lip)

● one adoption was finalized this year: Mimi was adopted by Asha's parents

● several Surfcats crossed the Rainbow Bridge this year: Alejandro, Moxie, Bella Gray, Stormy - we love and miss all of you

To everyone who has donated to us, whether from one of our wishlists, fundraisers, or monthly donations, we can not thank you enough for your support.

To everyone who liked and shared our posts, your contributions are just as important. Your shares help get the word out for our little cat rescue. Thank you.

We also want to thank the other local rescues who have shared our posts, we are grateful to live in a community where we all work together for the good of the cats.

We love what we do here at Surfcat but we can’t do it without the support of our community. This year was especially hard for us financially and we are looking forward to leaving the struggles of 2025 behind.

Here's to a great 2026!

Hi from all the Surfcats!

Giving Tuesday is here and while our humans have been kind of quiet on social media about it (what slackers 😹), we wanted to remind our friends, followers and supporters that we are so grateful for all of your support ❤️

But as you can see, there are quite a few of us, and with donations down this year, we wanted to ask if maybe you could donate a little something? Food and litter can get expensive, and we won't name names, but some of us need additional care due to health issues. It's not easy (or cheap) keeping us living the lives we've become accustomed to but the humans do do their best.

If you can, please consider making a donation on this global day of giving. This link will take you to our website where you can safely donate via PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account to donate):

Happy National Cat Day from Surfcat!

While we think every day is Cat Day, we're always happy to celebrate a day set aside to honor cats 🐈‍⬛

While most of our cats are considered sanctuary cats and therefore not adoptable, we do have one very adoptable cat (Mimi), and a few others who are adoptable to the right person. See one you're interested in? Just ask! We'll let you know if they're available to adopt.

We want to take this day to showcase all of the Surfcats. Adoptable or not, all are loved ❤️

And we want to thank all of our supporters, your support enables us to continue to care for the cats who would otherwise have no place to call home.

Please feel free to show us your cats!

Mimi is super sweet and super friendly when given the opportunity. She hadn’t seen me for quite some time and was totally fine. She likes it when her person is sitting on the couch or lying on the bed or just sitting anywhere. In her last time, she may have had some issues With large loud adults. She would be best in a quiet home and I know she would be OK with another friendly kitty. When she was at the sanctuary, she became friends with some of the cats there. Please consider adopting Mimi. She is very happy in her foster home, but in order for us to rescue another cat, she needs to find a permanent forever home Susan Dorazio

I’ve been taking care of Mimi for the past couple of days. She’s been super sweet and super friendly with me. Lots of head butts lots of purring.
I just thought I’d share this because she doesn’t see me very often and although she might remember me a little bit, she wasn’t afraid at all. Once I did what Susan suggested she was all purrs. 😻 Mimi is available for adoption through . Susan Dorazio

Meet Spike! He is 14 years old, very loving and sweet, and needs a lot of attention and love! He does better if someone is home the majority of the time. His front paws are declawed but not the back. He is an inside-only cat and cannot go outside. He is neutered and has good litter box manners. He’s been around dogs and does fine with them.

Please help Spike find a new forever home for his golden years. Contact Emily at [email protected] if interested. Please share. ❤️❤️❤️

This is Sammy van Gogh and Picasso. They have been bonded since they were kittens and since nobody wanted to adopt Sammy due to his neurological issues, they are still here at Surfcat. They will live out their lives here at the sanctuary. Please when you see two kitties at the shelter in the same enclosure, please adopt them both. and Picasso
