The 2024 season has come to a close with US Dressage Finals! I know I probably sound like a broken record when I say how proud I am of both horses and riders, but if you got to spend the week with this extremely dedicated group you would understand!

Registration is open for the USDF Instructor/Trainer Development Program presented by the IDCTA: Illinois Dressage and Combined Training Association. It will feature instructors Sarah Geikie & Katherine Simard, with the Riding session October 26-27, the Teaching session November 23-24, & the Lunging session January 4-5, 2025. Late registrations are now being accepted.

The Greystoke Dressage team had a super Region 4 Championships! We had so many great rides, great laughs, and some pretty ribbons to boot! I am so proud of this incredibly hard working team of riders, horses, owners, and families! More details in the pictures below. Onto US Finals!

Team Greystoke completed 25 rides this weekend at the SLADS August Classic. We rode at every level from Intro to 4th. We got to ride the waves of highs and lows that come with horse showing, but I am so proud of how incredibly supportive our team is! It’s an absolute pleasure to be apart of such a hard-working, dedicated group of people!

We are on our way home from Dressage at Lamplight, and what a show it was!

I had the honor of piloting Erin Herzog’s amazing Romano BRH to my first Grand Prix tests this weekend, earning my gold medal and scores as high as 68%! I have so many thanks to give to Erin for this opportunity and to Martin Kuhn for giving me the tools to be prepared for this level of competition! Lots of happy tears this weekend!

Da Vinci HSR made his fourth level debut with two scores of 64% and competed a third level freestyle with scores over 70%. While we had several green mistakes through the weekend, I am so proud of his development and can’t wait to see what he can do with more strength!

Maple Creek Duke, owned by Lisa Rois, earned a 66% at Second Level along with a 69% and 73% in his First Level Freestyle!

Emma and Shawnee had a wonderful show with some lovely training level tests up to 69.8%, and made their first level debut with scores up to 66%! They were also high point champions for training level!

Thank you so much to Martin Kuhn for a wonderful clinic yesterday! It was a fun, education filled day for everyone. We added some new tools to the toolbox and a greater understanding of this difficult sport. Martin does such an excellent job of challenging each pair without overfacing them and celebrating the smallest victories. Thank you so much to all of the participants and auditors for a successful clinic! Now to work on our homework!

What a week at the Region 11 Arabian and Half Arabian Championships! Some wonderful wins and some great learning and growing opportunities. I am proud of all of our riders and horses for their hard work and perseverance in this difficult sport, and also their ability to get us all laughing so much our cheeks hurt! Thank you everyone for a wonderful show; now time to tuck in some ponies and rest!

What an incredible show we had this weekend at April at the Arch! The horses showed up and showed out. Every horse we brought broke 70% at their respective levels and qualified for Regionals! However, what I am so wildly proud of is our Greystoke Dressage village and the camaraderie and support of our greater community of trainers, riders, and families. It makes the highs even higher and makes the lows a little more bearable.

We started off show season 2024 with a bang at the Missouri Extravaganza! As it goes with shows, we had some amazing moments and some learning moments. We brought 7 horses and showed off a winters worth of hard work. I am so grateful for our awesome village of riders, horses, and families and so incredibly proud! Now time to rest and recover before we get back to it!
