Had a fantastic time at the CW Equestrian Center, Inc. November show! A little chilly but still walked away with two great scores and the Adult Gaited High Point award for the year! 🀩

Huge thanks to my amazing supportive husband and also McPherson Photography Studio LLC for awesome photos!

To my team (you know who you are but you'll be properly tagged in my final post) I cannot thank you enough. Seriously, I could not do this alone.

I've recently started designing and making custom vinyl decals and products that have been selling pretty well at the local tack shop I've been working at. One of the most popular items has been a treat bottle (Mana Pro Apple Saddle Snacks). I love that it's just the right size to throw in your groom tote, trailer, or even take out on the trail.

I will be offering these with a new custom design for sale specifically for the TWHBEA World Versatility Show. One side of the treat bottle will state the year, show name and walking horse silhouettes, the other side will be personalized! Put your name, your barn name, your horse's name, or if you want something specific send me a message and I'll try my best to make it a reality!

Each treat bottle will $7.50 if ordered before July 23rd. On or after July 23rd the price will increase to $10.00 per bottle. $2.50 of each treat bottle sale will be combined and donated as a sponsorship to the TWHBEA World Versatility Show.

I will also be available at the show to discuss custom decals for your trucks, trailers, coolers, tumblers, etc.

πŸ’” Final Update: Ash died at 4:56 in my arms. Vet wasn't here yet. I took him out to the arena about 4:00 and had him in my lap; thought it would be nice for him to leave this life somewhere he loved to play. He laid in my lap content and comfortable like he had so many times before for almost an hour. He had a seizure and I held him to my chest and reassured him he was a good kitty and that it was okay and that was it - he was gone. He's laid to rest under the cedars between the house and the barn.

He was the first one of the three to trust me, the first one to abandon his dinner to get loved on, and would absolutely just melt in your lap and fall asleep. He will be missed every, single, day. I hope he knows how much he was loved, and I am grateful that he made the effort to come home despite obviously being very ill. I wish I could have saved him, he was taken from me way too soon. πŸ’”

πŸ’” Update: Ash has not improved in the last 24 hours. He is not eating, very weak, his breathing is fast and shallow, and he's very uncoordinated when he does try to move around. In weighing our options, we have found that even the most aggressive treatment has a disappointingly low chance of success, and we feel the most humane thing to do is end his suffering instead of prolonging it and subjecting him to tests and treatments in a strange, small, sterile environment (especially when all he's known is open freedom of the farm). One of our vets will be out this evening (5pm-ish Central time) to put him down. Until then he is safe, warm, and appears to be comfortable.

Send prayers for my little barn kitty Ash. He had been missing from the barn for 3 days - didn't come in with the others for dinner, not coming when called, and nowhere in the webcams day or night. I had pretty much given up hope on him coming back, but then I found him laying by the mounting block in the arena this morning, instantly knew something was wrong, and immediately took him to the vet. No obvious injuries, but extremely weak and lethargic. Blood test came back low white count, low red count, low platelet count, so it could be a virus, it could be bacterial, it could be autoimmune - we really have no idea.

He got subcutaneous fluids a dose of antibiotic and a dose of steroids, and we brought home more to continue treatment. I've set him up in a crate in the basement with a few comfort items from the barn.

That said it really is a 50/50 chance that he bounces back or this could be the end. This morning when I thought for sure that he was gone I was crying lamenting that I wasn't there to protect him from some animal, or I wasn't able to help him if he was injured, or that he died out there alone and scared. So if this is his time to go, at least I can take comfort in knowing I did everything I could for him and that he was able to pass peacefully, quietly, and comfortably.

πŸ˜† my poor husband can relate!

Started with horseback lessons a few months after we got married (2014). A few months in Hubby asked me what I was going to do over the summer break (I was a teacher). I said "well if I had a horse I could ride all the time!" Hence Beau 😍 (2015). Next of course I needed a tiny trailer so I could take my horse to shows and trail rides (2016). And of course I needed a truck to haul the tiny trailer (2016). Then I needed a newer trailer with braking system because my horse needs to be safe (2017). Then I needed the newer, more reliable truck because I was hauling across multiple states to get to shows (2019). Then I needed a second horse - Lady Belle 😍 (2020). Then I needed a larger gooseneck trailer that could hold both horses, hay, and shavings and also allow me to camp in it overnight at shows (2021). Then I needed a small farm with a barn to bring them home because I hated how far away my horsies were (2021)!

God bless the horse husbands! ❀️
