Since childhood, Charlsie has been passionate about working with animals and improving their well-being. Rover Done Over has given her the opportunity to turn that passion into a career—making a real difference in the lives of many pets.

As an adult, her love for animals grew while working at a family-owned pet store, where she gained hands-on experience caring for a variety of dog and cat breeds. It was there that she was first introduced to grooming and knew immediately she wanted to learn more. Over the next 15 years, she volunteered off and on at humane societies throughout Northern Illinois and Indiana, further deepening her knowledge and commitment.

Her professional grooming journey began two years ago, when she joined the team at Rover Done Over—a group she now proudly calls her second family. In that short time, she has learned and grown immensely, developing a particular specialty in grooming doodles and a love for the Asian Fusion grooming style.

“My favorite part of the grooming process is when a client starts to recognize me and gets excited to see me. When a nervous or aggressive dog begins to trust you over time—that’s the best feeling.”

She shares her life with three dogs: Pepper, Kimber, and Maisie Belle. Her favorite breeds to groom are Shih Tzus and Schnauzers. She takes great pride in offering professional, compassionate grooming services, always aiming to provide each pet with a fun, relaxing, and positive experience tailored just for them.

Have you ever wondered what boarding is like at Rover Done Over?

Our $45 per dog, per night rate includes:
⁃ a room in our climate-controlled boarding room.
⁃ A nice cot to sleep on.
⁃ Fresh water 24/7 and meals and snacks based on your pet’s individual needs (including medication administration!), as well as plenty of potty breaks.
⁃ Ambient lighting and soothing music at night for a relaxing stay.
⁃ A spot in our daycare where they can play, make new friends, and get plenty of snuggles! Tired pups sleep better at night!
⁃ If your dog isn’t a good match for daycare, don’t worry! They will still get plenty of 1-on-1 time with our staff throughout the day.
⁃ A go-home bath for those pups who have a longer stay with us, making sure they go home fresh!
⁃ Grooming and bath services, nail trims, etc. are also available while your dog is here, at our normal rates, for your convenience, saving you a trip!

Gracie has been grooming pets for 3 years, but her love for animals started long before that. Growing up surrounded by horses, goats, and of course dogs, she knew early on that caring for animals would always be a part of her life.

In high school, she worked at a veterinary clinic where she gained hands-on experience and learned the importance of both health and comfort in an animal’s care. Since then, she is grateful for the privilege of working with incredible people at Rover Done Over, where’s she’s grown as a groomer and found a second family.

Gracie states, “grooming isn’t just a job for me-it’s a passion. I love watching puppies grow into happy, mature dogs and being part of their journey as they grow old. When I am not grooming, you’ll find me outdoors, spending time with family, friends, or enjoying the company of my dog, Bandit.”

At Rover Done Over, Gracie treats every pet like her own, ensuring they feel safe, cared for, and of course-looking their very best.
