Mark your calendar for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Noble Park Dog Parks. The event will be Tuesday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. The new parks are located adjacent to the Anna Baumer Building and Shelter 17 behind the amphitheatre. The dog parks are open seven days a week from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the summer season (April – October). The dog parks are similar in size to the existing ones at Stuart Nelson Park and include a new access road, water fountains, fencing with vestibule entries, shelters, lighting, pet waste receptacles, and paved accessible parking areas. Portable restrooms are onsite.

The small enclosure will not open until later this year while grass is being established. The large enclosure is temporarily separated into two spaces to provide space for large breeds and small breeds during this transition.

The Stuart Nelson Dog Parks will close in the near future to prepare for the construction of the Paducah Sports Park.

Stuart Nelson Park is OPEN. Snow has been cleared from the drives through the park. Some parking areas are still snow covered. Please keep vehicles on the cleared drives as you travel through the park.

Due to the heavy rain over the past several hours, the Parks & Recreation Department has closed Noble Park and Stuart Nelson Park for the public’s safety until the water recedes.

Winterization of the Dog Parks will take place this week. While the Dog Parks will remain open during daylight hours, water will be shut off in preparation winter.

Effective Friday, June 5, the dog park at Stuart Nelson Park will open at 7am and close at Sunset. Please continue to follow posted rules as you enjoy your time at Paducah’s Dog Park.

This Saturday Paducah Homegrown Holiday Market will be going on from 9am to 2pm at Paducah Middle School-- as well as pictures and donuts with Santa from 9-12--as part of a fundraiser for the school's Leader in Me Program Enjoy carriage rides from 9-12, as well as christmas trees for sale from the Knights of Columbus!~

ATTENTION DOG PARK FRIENDS!

The Large Dog Park at Stuart Nelson Park will be closed beginning Monday, August 5. Contractors will be installing sod in areas and we must stay off of it for several days.
Please use Field 1 for now, until we are able to reopen the large dog park for use. We will notify you when the Large Dog Park reopens.

Guess what?!? Large Dog Park renovation is complete! The gates are unlocked and the park is open, beginning at noon today.

Field 1 is still temporarily available for use as well. Please continue to follow posted rules at all dog park locations.

Waiting for the weather to warm up and dry out the ground before we can reopen. We will notify you when we have a reopening date scheduled. Please continue to use the temporary dog park location on field 1 at Stuart Nelson Park. Thank you for your patience!

We are nearing the end of rehab to the large dog park. We hope to reopen the large dog park by the end of next week (November 2). Stay tuned.

Large dog park has new irrigation! Now we just need the grass to grow in. Please continue to use field 1 until construction is complete and we are able to reopen the large dog park.

Tents have been added to field 1 to provide shade for dog owners while visiting the park.

Good Monday to you! Update on dog park construction....

The contractor has finished his portion of the project that included new concrete entries, gates, and grading of the site. The next portion of the project includes irrigation of the site and reseeding. This portion will be done by Parks Maintenance crews.

Please continue using Field 1 for large dogs. Once the large dog park is completed, the construction signs and barricades will be removed and Parks will reopen the gates of the large dog park.

We have heard from a few of you that the lack of shade on field 1 has been unfavorable. We are working to remedy that temporarily for you. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.

Again, large dog park is still under construction. Please stay off the site until it is reopened by Parks staff. Thank you!
