It is with a happy and sad heart that I share October classes are posted and ready for new training teams. This will be my last round of group classes until Forrest Tails closes for the foreseeable future. Family duties call. While I am sad to take a step back in the training world I know it is not forever, just for now!

I have Manners 1 and 2 classes posted and I will be as accommodating as possible to fit everyone in who would like to participate! Happy training Pagosa!

This local breeder is wonderful and is seasoned in selecting breeding pairs for health, temperment and trainability. There is still one sweet puppy left, who l needs a summer puppy adventure?!

We had a fantastic day temperament testing each of the puppies with our wonderful trainer. Every single one of the puppies did phenomenal. They are ALL easy going, engaging, mellow, human focused and confident.
It was mentioned many times during the testing how closely comparable this litter is to our Goldendoodles, making them wonderful dogs for families!

If you are looking for a easy going and friendly doodle, look no further!! Puppies are going home this Sunday and there is one spot open!

Chorizo is graduating as a breeder! Chorizo is a dog from Freedom Service Dogs and I had the pleasure of raising him last year, turning him in for "college" mid November 2021. Raising a service dog in training is no easy feat but the end result is always worth it. If you have ever considered volunteering some extra time (and love!) to raise a service dog I would love to answer all of your questions!

From the best breeder in Colorado! Raised with love and intention. Isn't it crazy to think that puppies should be raised with a learning curriculum?! This helps not only with transition but also with confidence and early house skills such as house and crate training.

Lighthearted update on my "other" children! Chorizo is doing wonderful in college! He's working on smell distractions because to a 15 month intact boy, EVERYTHING smells delicious. He is calm and confident and we are hopeful he will go the distance.

Patrick was placed with his forever person, another perfect match for . She is lovely and sends me picture updates weekly, I am spoiled! As the puppy raiser family, we get the opportunity to send a care package to the new graduate team and Amorah slept with Patrick's new puppy daily for weeks so he would remember her. Roberta informed us that this puppy is his hands down favorite toy, I think it's safe to say he remembered us ❤🐾.

Manners 1 begins next week and I have one spot left in our 5-6 pm class! This will be the last round of classes until spring while I get the opportunity to stay home with our new human Forrest baby! What do we learn in Manners 1?
🐾 Attention to handler and working through distractions
🐾 Basic cues and clicker training - sit, down, stay, beginning recall
🐾 Leash skills
🐾 Excitable greetings and jumping
🐾 Addressing attention seeking behaviors
🐾 Positive reinforcement training with small class sizes

I will be out of the office for the remainder of the week. This long legged fella is off to college. Raising one puppy at a time, turn in day always comes too soon. Joy, pride, sadness, hope, worry and elation all at once.

With each puppy I raise, they take a little piece of me and I take a little piece of them. Chorizo is puppy number 9, raised with the intent to become a future service dog. Someday maybe I will be more dog than person. Good luck long legged buddy. Ugly tears soon to come.
