We are so excited to welcome our precious F1 Cavapoo litter to the SMD family ❤

This pairing was intentionally chosen to give families a guaranteed smaller-size companion without losing the calm, steady, and highly trainable temperaments we focus on. Often to guarantee smaller sizes, there is a need to add higher amount of small poodle into the breed pairing, which can compromise the integrity of the steady nature.
As more families ask for petite pups, it’s important to us that we continue honoring the mellow, therapy-minded foundation that we have built Selah Mountain Dogs on.

Cavapoos fit into our vision of the tempermentally sound and healthy dogs we have been proud to produce!
They’re incredibly people-focused, intuitive, and joyful little dogs—very similar to our Goldendoodles in their emotional intelligence and eagerness to please. They are fantastic family companion dogs!

We found an exceptional, high level health-tested Cavalier King Charles Spaniel sire to breed with our sweet Poodle mama, Mishi, and we couldn’t be happier with these sweet puppies 🥹

We currently have THREE spots open on our reservation list (all female openings).

Our beautiful “Ski Season” litter from Brighton and Lee went to their forever homes this past weekend. Each and every family was such a blessing to work with and get to know! We had returning families and several referral families in this litter. We are so grateful to each and every person who referred us!

Thank you all again for trusting us to raise your precious fur-baby!

Brighton is now officially retired and enjoying her retirement with her fur-sister and family!
Sierra was chosen as the puppy we kept back as a future mama, to continue Brighton’s amazing line

Our sweet Ski Season puppies are heading home this weekend. What a blessing it has been to watch these sweet little ones grow. They all have really exciting futures ahead of them!

We are extremely thankful for Brighton and her guaridan home. She is now offically retired. We love her and will miss seeing her ❤

Sierra has been chosen to stay in our program as a future mama for us! It was a tough choice as all the of puppies are seriously perfect in this litter

Yesterday was tempermant testing day for our Ski Season litter!
They all showed confidence, resilience, bravery, high levels of human focused traits and self control- exactly what we strive for here at SMD.

I am so proud that between purpose parent pairing and our intensive early puppy training program, we are able to produce consistency in foundational temperament traits within an entire litter ❤

Tempermant testing is a great resorce to help show the strengthens and weaknesses of each puppy and how their new families can support them in training as they grow!

This weeks new exposure exercise is…..Tunnel Time! 🐾

The puppies are exploring our agility tunnel as part of their early-development exposure enrichment work.
This simple activity helps them build confidence, learn to handle new sounds and sensations, and develop better body awareness. Early exposure exercises this and others we do, creates puppies who grow up more steady and resilient.

We love watching them bravely crawl through and have fun!

The Ski Season ⛷️🏔️ litter is 5 weeks old!

This week is a BIG week for these babies in training & development!
We are working on confidence and independence building through crate training, desensitization work and problem solving activities!
They are also learning lots on recovering from uncertainty, fear and confusion!
Their little brains are working hard this week🙌🏼

We have ☝️ opening on the reservation list for the Ski Season litter! This spot will likely be a male- although we cannot guarantee a specific color pattern.

- Extended training options are available with these pups through our local and denver area trainers, its a great option for those wanting a started puppy at Christmas 🎄

Muffin (previously Cocoa) went home with her awesome family today! We are so excited to see Miss Muffin grow with her sweet family.

The other Coffe Lovers pups-Brew, Latte, Java and Mocha are off to advanced training over the next couple weeks! More update to come☕️
