We are officially in Nevada now.

Couple days ago Peper and I set out on an adventure, driving from Saint Helens OR to Pahrump Nevada, (where my husband and I bought our new house). It was a looooooong 16 hour drive, with mostly desert and not one soul on the road but us.
We did however find a few beautiful spots and had some fun on our driving breaks.
Once we got to our house we both passed out in same position on the floor, I did have a sleeping bag, Pepper refused her bed and preferred the coolness of the floor.

‼️ Be very, VERY careful during the heat waves.
It can turn bad very quickly…
Stay cool, leave your dogs at home. Provide plenty of cold water.
NEVER EVER leave your dogs in the car or even outside, without proper cooling shelter and water

Enjoying Poland so much…❤️❤️❤️
Still representing FTK9T, even here.
I had an opportunity today to talk with a lady who’s dog was being reactive on the street and she was so distraught.
She shared with me that there is a new baby at home and that her dog is being jealous. I talked to her about positive reinforcement of good behaviors and vocal micro corrections of undesirable behaviors. She was so excited to start applying with she learned in our conversation. I wish I had more time with her. Hoping to run into her again before I leave.
I love what I do no matter where in the world I am.
Dogs are dogs…and I understand them.

We are back from Poland. It was an amazing trip. Family and friends…and beautiful places. Baltic Sea is all that I remember it to be and more. Now we are preparing for our move to Nevada. - Kasha

Winnie

Winnie and her handler are learning loose leash walking and leadership skills. Sometimes resetting is what’s needed. Winnie’s handler did a great job resetting when Winnie became fearful of the goats that were next to the fence. #reactivedogtraining

Today’s training session with Nova. It was his first day here. Nova has been extremely reactive and even aggressive with dogs and his family has not been able to walk him confidently, it has created a lot of stress and anxiety for everyone. First things first, loose leash walking. Then we can address leadership, recognizing reactivity before it begins and addressing it correctly. Everyone did AMAZINGLY WELL! Rosie (aka Suzie Bug Bug) was reactive, jumping on people who were just walking by, pulling so hard it was difficult to walk her down the street. This is Rosie’s very first Orientation session. Wally’s first training session. It needed to be modified as Wally has a hurt leg. His family’s concern was that Wally would pull very hard, jump, bark and be reactive to everyone and everything during his walks. He was even jumping up on trees. The family was anxious and embarrassed to walk him down the street. First steps are not perfect and can feel awkward. It is a learning process, but the results were almost immediate. There was no reactivity even when dogs were walking by. We are so proud of Wally and his family. The session was a huge success. #reactivedogtraining #trainthehandler #rescuedogsrock

Piper was adopted from FurFriends Animal Rescue, INC. two weeks ago. She has previously been training with us. Now it is time her family learns what she already knows. Piper can be dog reactive without proper leadership. After an hour long theory class, we worked on walking alignment, turns, handler confidence and also went over some commands that Piper already knows. Pepper Man (red heeler) is a good dog who gets along well with others, but at times when he meets a new dog he can be reactive. Luna and Maggie were adopted from FurFriends Animal Rescue, INC. by an extended family who live in different households. The family arrived at the training session with their dogs. When they got out of their cars with them (separate cars) the dogs were lunging and barking at each other, it was a total chaos. We dedicated this session to helping the family learn to lead with confidence and skill. With set of corrections and praises/rewards, within minutes we had Luna and Maggie sit in close proximity without reactivity.
