Our hearts are so full! …nothing makes our day like a room full of puppies!!! The Komar family brought these sweet 7 week old Bernese Mountain dogs to visit Dr. Wade this afternoon! We ALL shared SO many smiles and snuggles!🥰 Thank you for trusting us with these babies, and we can’t WAIT to see them again!

Say hello to our pet of the day, “Guacamole”! 🥑 This sweet 11 week old girl came to visit Dr. Mosser on Monday for a complete nose to tail exam, vaccines, intestinal parasite screen, and deworming! She has a spunky personality, and our assistant Maddie LOVED hugging her all morning long (along with the rest of us)! We can’t wait to see her again!🥰

Say “hello” to one of our adorable patients, “Kaiser”! He is a 10 year old Rottweiler mix loved by the Hall family. This sweet boy, and his trusty cow friend, came to spend the day with us about a week ago for reference lab bloodwork! He made us all smile at how proud he was to carry around and show off his cow buddy!🐮 Isn’t he just the SWEETEST little man?!🥰

I went to veterinary school at Ross University and completed my clinical year at Lincoln Memorial University. I am pictured with my German Shepherd, Jackson. Today, to celebrate DVM appreciation week, we’d like to highlight Dr. Bonnie Dill! 🐾

“Hi there! My name is Bonnie Dill. I grew up on a small farm in Chardon, OH, made my career choice of veterinarian in the 4th grade, and never looked back! I attended Lake Catholic High School, and went on to further my career at The Ohio State University, graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. I spent almost 31 years after graduating at All Creatures Animal Hospital in Geneva, OH. There, I was a solo small animal practitioner. I especially enjoy preventative medicine and senior care, along with client education. Family is super important to me! When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Steve. We are exercise enthusiasts, and especially enjoy running on the local trails. We also enjoy watching professional college and high school sports, especially the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Lake Catholic Cougars! I am excited to be a part of the Big Creek team, and look forward to taking care of your pets!”

“Hello! My name is Marissa LoParo. I graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. While I adored the Florida sunshine and, of course, the frequent trips to Disney, I decided to follow my heart back to my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio to join the Big Creek family. Throughout my education, I developed special interests in preventative care, feline medicine, and fear-free techniques. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors with my husband, David. We especially enjoy hiking, fishing, exploring new parks, and attending Cleveland Indians games. I also have a passion for cooking and cherish all of the beautiful memories made in the kitchen with my family. I am so thankful to be a part of Big Creek Veterinary Hospital and I look forward to fostering life-long, treasured relationships with you and your beloved pets. See you soon!”

In honor of DVM appreciation week, today we’d like to highlight Dr. Aaron Horch! 🐾

“I graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Dr. Percival and I were in the same class at Ohio State. I came to Big Creek Veterinary Hospital in 2002. My wife’s name is Tracy and she retired from Big Creek Veterinary Hospital last year after being employed by Big Creek for more than twenty years. We live in Concord. Tracy and I enjoy spending time together and taking care of our home. Tracy and I have three dogs and three cats. The dogs are Dorabelle (because she is adorable), Joey (Australian Shepherd), and Nika (Australian Cattle Dog). Our cats names are Hershey, Nestor, and Sophie. I have two adult children. My daughter Jordan lives in Columbus, Ohio and is getting married in 2021 to her fiance. My son Colin lives in Chardon with his girlfriend Mikayla. I enjoy all aspects of small animal practice. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your pet!”

DVM appreciation week is still in full swing! We’d like to take this as an opportunity to share a bit about each of our doctors each day this week! Today, we’d like to highlight our Medical Director Dr. Lauren Wade! 👩🏻‍⚕️

“ I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and realized that I wanted to be a veterinarian early in life. I loved science and math (yep, I’m a nerd), animals (what vet doesn’t), and the problem solving and compassion that I saw in the veterinarians, I knew veterinary medicine was the perfect career choice for me. I studied Biology at Wittenberg University and was accepted as a member of THE Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine class of 2000.

After graduation, I moved to northeastern Ohio, beginning in an all equine practice and moving to Big Creek Veterinary Hospital in 2003. I took a brief (and ill advised) sabbatical from Big Creek in 2020, and happily rejoined the new Encore/Big Creek team in June of 2021.

In addition to practicing veterinary medicine, I enjoy riding and showing my Hanoverian gelding Tommy (who is on the right in the picture). I am also a joyful and enthusiastic (if not skilled) singer and dancer. I live in Burton with my tolerant and handsome husband Frank, my two occasionally clean and always fabulous Border Terriers – George and Gracie, and 1 3/4 cats – creatively named Man Cat and Three Leg.”

Meet our pet of the day, “Daisy”!💕 She is a 5 month old boxer mix loved by the Clarkson family! This sweet girl came to visit Dr. Horch for a nose to tail checkup, vaccines, and urinalysis. We couldn’t get enough of her happy wiggly personality, and gave her SOOOO much love and lots of snuggles! She absolutely made our day, and we can’t wait to see her again!🥰

This sweet pup has lost her people! She was found on Callow Road in Leroy, Ohio and is going to spend the night safe and cozy with the people who found her. If you know who her people are or have proof of ownership, please give our office a call after 8 am Thursday morning at 440-639-8585 and we will help reunite her!

Are you spring cleaning?! We are running 🚨VERY low🚨 on bedding for our shelter residents! If you’re cleaning out your linen closets, we will happily take any sheets (fitted and flat), towels (all size), and blankets you have! We are unable to accept pillows.

You can drop off any time! If we are closed, there is a donation cart located outside the front door.

Say ‘hello’ to our precious Pet of the Day, “Henry”! He is loved by the Battista family. He visited with Dr. Mosser last week and recieved a full exam with ear cytology and cleaning! Henry LOOOOOVED giving kisses to us, and won us over with his charm… and his eyebrows! 😬 He’s the sweetest little man!🫶🏼
