Today Duke looked at the pool noodles lol like "not this again....no not today thank you very much" 😆. Bella had her work cut out for herself...Duke was determined that the answer was still "no".
After at least 15 minutes he finally said " ok, it's cold...I guess I'll do it since you're not going to give up". Lol Good job Bella for convincing him it was okay to walk through.
I love Duke but,he loves to play games with a rider if he thinks he can.
He got treats anyway 😁

Winter isn't over yet so lessons are being scheduled around the weather as needed and will continue to be that way in February.
Starting in March, lessons here at the farm will only be scheduled on Monday, Wednesday,and Thursday for ages 8 and up. Individual lessons will be scheduled where there is an opening unless you come each week. Those that purchase a prepaid package of 6 lessons will need to use those lessons at one per week with the weeks running consecutively. The package deal is only offered to children under 18.
A 24 hour notice is required if you cannot keep your scheduled lesson or you will be charged for the missed lesson. A four hour notice is needed for sickness unless it's an emergency.
Lessons are an hour long but, could run over a few minutes if necessary. Please note that
lessons are "not" just riding lessons...they are Horsemanship lessons which means that they may include things such as cleaning tack, balance lessons off the horse, groundwork, etc. Therefore, whether it's raining or not, and whether the arena is usable or not, you are still expected to show up for your scheduled lesson.
I will be doing traveling lessons on Tuesdays and Saturdays. My regular lesson price will apply as well as a trip fee.
Those that wish to trailer in for a lesson are welcome and will be charged the regular lesson fee plus a $5.00 haul in fee. Proof of a negative coggins and health paper are required.

It's been tough to get lessons done this month due to the weather. We are just playing it by ear and doing the best we can. Spring will be here soon!

2025 is here and with the New Year comes some exciting changes. We will have a few select days of the week specifically for our lesson program. We are also hosting several events in the coming months. One being a day camp just for the ladies that would like to experience horses. A ground working day camp will be added to the schedule in early summer, as will several other events. We will be hosting a Hobby Horse Competition for the kids in late spring.
Donna will also be accepting more adult students this year. Trailering in is an option or she will be available to travel on certain days as well. Her focus this year will be to help people and their horses find common ground both on the ground and in the saddle.
Problem horses are welcome. No stallions!

Chloe did an awesome job of keeping Duke on the rail today. That takes concentration and steering on the riders part because Duke likes to make the decisions if he can. Progress is being made!!
