Just another hot day in July...

The Hobby Horse Race was fun!! The participants ran two races that were timed ...one divided according to age and then one for all. They also did a jump course. All of them made a clean round with no poles knocked down. Ribbons were passed out to the winners. Thank you to the parents that got up early, braved the heat and brought their kids to participate in this event. Another memory made. 😊

Congratulations Maycee 🎉. Maycee has achieved the skills required to pass Level 1 in the horsemanship program at Southern Breeze Horsemanship Center. She is currently working on her Level 2 requirements and is doing very well. She comes to lessons every week. She is riding Sprout right now and working on her canter (which is coming along nicely). I think her favorite horse is Duke though (he has his own fan club).😊 No matter which horse she rides she does a great job...and ends with a smile.
Way to go Maycee!!!🎉🏇♥️

Betty is a gaited horse (Rocky Mountain Morgan cross). I don't use her for lessons much but, Zoey loves to ride her so today Betty was the gal of the hour.

It was hot today!! Sprout enjoyed getting sprayed with cool water after his ride with Riley. Of course, that called for a roll in the dirt afterwards 😁

Summer Camp 2024 was fun! We had a great group of kids. I can't post some of the pictures due to respecting privacy but, I think they all had fun. Thank you to all the parents for giving your child the opportunity to ride and enjoy horses!

This page features my younger students and events that are held at Southern Breeze Horsemanship Center. I also have a page that features tips and articles for those who are interested in educational articles. It is Donna Bishop, Riding Instructor. I am available to travel to students who have their own horse and would like to work with it at home rather than trailer in or use one of my horses. Weekend workshops and one or two day clinics are also offered throughout the spring/fall months. If you are interested in those options feel free to send me a PM.

The Introduction to Vaulting with Lisa Dreager was AWESOME!!! Lisa did a great job explaining the sport, demonstrating the exercises, and assisting each participant both on the vaulting barrel and on the horse. I think everyone had a great time and learned a lot. Mr. Big filled in and did a great job as our Vaulting horse patiently carrying all our young vaulters today.
Thank you Lisa for sharing your time and knowledge with us today!!! This was a one of a kind confidence building experience for many of the girls participating today.
