🎃 Halloween Pet Safety Tips from Arroyo Pet 🐾
Halloween can be a lot of fun for us — but it can also be stressful or even dangerous for our pets! Here are some ways to keep them safe and comfortable:
1. Keep candy out of reach 🍫
Chocolate, xylitol (found in sugar-free treats), and raisins are toxic to pets. Make sure all candy is safely stored away from curious noses!
2. Create a safe space 🏡
The doorbell ringing and costumes can be scary! Set up a quiet room with their favorite bed, toys, and calming music to help them relax.
3. Be cautious with costumes 👻
Not all pets enjoy dressing up. If your pet wears a costume, make sure it’s comfortable, doesn’t restrict movement or breathing, and has no small parts they could chew off.
4. Keep ID tags and microchips up to date 🪪
With the door opening often for trick-or-treaters, there’s a higher chance of pets slipping out. Make sure they’re wearing identification, just in case!
