Since 1975, Harper Animal Hospital has been delivering the highest quality veterinary medical care, and giving you and your pet the personal attention and time you deserve. Harper Animal Hospital officially opened its doors in 1975, and since that time we have been providing our clients and patients with the highest level of quality service and care. We can be found near the corner of Algonquin Ro

ad and Roselle Road in Palatine. Harper Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary clinic offering a wide range of comprehensive animal healthcare services, from routine wellness care to state-of-the-art diagnostics to surgery and more. Our situation is particularly unique in that both of our veterinarians are second generation vets, with their fathers owning animal hospitals in rural Iowa. Spending numerous hours at their father’s practices has instilled a desire in both of them to bring that small town community experience to your visit while at the same time provide top notch modern veterinary service. Harper Animal Hospital is proud to support our local communities. We have worked with many shelters over the years, providing veterinary care for pets in need of a good home. We also work with a local community college, providing an internship site for aspiring veterinary technicians. We love the people and pets of the areas we serve and we appreciate the opportunity to give back whenever we can! Finally, Harper Animal Hospital is proud to have successfully achieved accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association. Throughout the United States and Canada, an elite group of veterinary practices (only 17%) voluntarily participates in an on-site evaluation based on the highest standards in veterinary medicine. This evaluation is conducted by the distinguished AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association), assessing practices on over 900 standards. By our participation, Harper Animal Hospital demonstrates a strong desire to provide you with high-quality medicine and top-notch services. We look forward to welcoming you and your animal companion into the Harper Animal Hospital family and serving all of your pet’s veterinary needs.

Say hello to our FIP Fighters, Lulu and AC! Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of feline coronavirus. Once a cat develops FIP, the disease usually progresses very quickly and up until recently was almost always fatal. Luckily, things have changed. Earlier this year, a new oral medication called GS-441524 became available in the U.S. This medication provides unprecedented hope when it comes to the treatment of FIP and has effectively treated thousands of cats like AC and Lulu since its release. We are thrilled that GS-441524 is now available to treat what was once an invariably untreatable and devastating disease. Veterinary medicine is an ever-evolving and rapidly advancing field, and the Care Team at Harper Animal Hospital is excited to incorporate these advancements into our practice as they become available.
