Feeding 100% raw can be difficult due to the expenses and the time it requires. Not everybody has the extra time and money, and THATS OKAY.

If you feed dry kibble, there are additions you can make that’ll still benefit your dogs health 🫐🍓🥦🥚

1- Hydration!!! Because of how kibble is cooked, it removes almost all of the hydration. You can add anything from water, coconut water, bone or chicken broth, or raw goat milk.

2- fresh foods. Here are a couple main supplement types, their benefits, and foods that fit in the category.

Probiotics- support the immune and digestive system and reduce gastrointestinal problems
- foods: yogurt, raw goat milk apple cider vinegar, coconut water, etc

Prebiotics- improve digestion, nutrient absorption, increase immune function and maintain healthy gut health
- foods: fruits (apples, berries), veggies (broccoli, spinach), root vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes).

Antioxidants- support healthy brain function, reduce inflammation, support healthy skin and coat
- foods: fruit (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries), fatty fish (salmon, sardines), leafy greens (spinach, collard greens)

Omega 3- improve skin and coat health, support joint health and reduce inflammation
- foods: green lipped mussels and oily fish (sardines, salmon, mackerel)

Glucosamine- support mobility and joint health, reduce inflammation
- foods: eggshell membranes organ meats (liver, kidney), bone or chicken broth

I would love to eventually feed raw, but until then, here is a glimpse of one some of Trouts meals look like 🤩

•Pet your dog, all the time
•Talk to your dog, all the time
•Allow your dog to follow you, all the time
•Allow your dog to be on your lap or laying on your feet, all the time
•Pet, soothe, comfort your dog when it whines or barks for attention...or is simply anxious
•Allow your dog to demand affection/interactions
•Be emotionally dependent on your dog to the point that unhealthy dependency and interactions are no longer noticed
•Allow your dog to do whatever it wants, whenever it wants—aka, provide no structure, rules, or accountability
•Foster an environment of chaos, stress, and anxiety
•Refuse to train and pattern calmness
•Refuse to crate train your dog
•Refuse to correct your dog when inappropriate behavior occurs
•Refuse to train your dog how to be independent/alone by using a “Place” command, “Downstay, and/or “away” time in the crate
•Let your dog out of the crate when it whines or barks
•Avoid training or anything that makes your dog temporarily uncomfortable or unhappy—in other words, cater to your dog’s every desire/need, designing your life around your dog, rather than having your dog fit into yours
•And many, many more...

Basically, baby, soothe, allow, enable, disable, lean on, omit teaching necessary life skills, prioritize what feels good for you rather than what does good for your dog, and through this master plan of leadership-free chaos, and systematic cultivation of creating a toxic dependency between dog and human...you’ll ensure that when you leave, your dog will be a true emotional mess, because you haven’t prepared them to be calm, obedient, strong, resilient, robust, independent, and alone.

Why dry kibble isn’t the best option.

How it’s made? Wet and dry ingredients get mixed together to create a dough. The dough is then processed through a high heat and high pressure machine called an extractor, and then cut into pieces. The pieces of kibble then get dried, cooled, and spray coated with a mixture of flavors and preservatives.

Does that sound like something you would want to eat every day for the entirety of your life?

Now, what is a more biologically appreciate option? RAW!! 🥩🥦 This diet consists of muscle meat, bone, liver, secreting organs, vegetables, and fruits. All which provide a healthy and balanced diet for our dogs!

People ask me how early they can start training their puppy. The answer…. You can start training as soon as you bring them home.

Carson started his training at 10 weeks old. He will be focusing on building his obedience skills as he gets older.

‼️Your dog’s freedom should ALWAYS be earned and not just given. If their recall isn’t 100% reliable, they should NOT be off leash.

Here is an example of what reliable recall looks like.

Griffen and his mom had their first public session today and worked on the skills that we have been focusing on. Here is a clip of them working on his loose leash walking.

I am very happy with the progress he has made and watching his mom become more confident in handling.

Ranger recently finished the 6 week basic obedience course. We were able to go to Manson park for our last session and practice some skills that we had focused on. Even with new distractions, Ranger did a great job focusing on his mom and completing what was asked of him.

Great Job little Ranger!!!
