Heidi Lu, the yellow lab, has been working hard to earn her SERVICE DOG status. 🐕‍🦺

As a service dog, we need to ensure that Heidi Lu is prepared for all situations.

Today, we took "HL" to meet our resident horse, Charm aka "Chubbs." 🐎

Each training program is tailored specifically towards meeting YOUR goals and preparing your dog to fit into your lifestyle. 🫡

We started working with "Burp" yesterday. 👏

Burp was born without eyes, he has zero vision but you'd never know by the way he "watches" us. It's incredible!!

Along with his new mom, we look forward to helping him become an Ambassador.

We have lots of experience with deaf, blind and special needs dogs.

𝔽𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕥𝕚𝕔 ℝ𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕠𝕞 𝔸𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕚𝕥𝕪 ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕠𝕕𝕤 👍
FRAPs, or Frenetic Random Activity Periods, are a natural behavior in dogs that involve sudden bursts of energy and frantic activity. Also known as zoomies, scrumbling, or midnight crazies, FRAPs are usually characterized by running in circles, spinning, chasing their tail, or racing around the house or yard.

FRAPs can be a way for dogs to: Release pent-up energy, Alleviate stress, Get some relief from under-stimulation, and Become very excited.

FRAPs are most common in puppies and younger dogs, but can occur in dogs of all ages and breeds. They can be triggered by many things, including:
-Getting home from work
-Late in the evening
-During play
-During training if overstimulated
-After defecating ("poopey zoomies"🤣)
-When something exciting happens
-After a bath...

FRAPs are usually short and end almost as suddenly as they start. 🙌

🫧 Bubbles! 🫧

🔊 The motor within the bubble machine sounds much like a small vacuum.

💁‍♀️Exposing the puppies to the sounds of the motor, paired with the fun sight of bubbles, creates a curiosity.

🫣The pups are initially intimidated by the droning sound, but the bubbles are so interesting that they push through and explore the situation. 🍀🙌

Keratosis in dogs, also known as hyperkeratosis, is a skin condition that causes a dog's skin to thicken and harden, especially on their paw pads. This is due to an overproduction of keratin, a protein that makes up a dog's skin, hair, and nails.

Dogs with severe hyperkeratosis can actually be treated by removing the excess keratin with scissors or a razor blade.

If your dog suffers from nasal hyperkeratosis, using a canine-safe moisturizing balm can provide relief by softening the crusty buildup.

We have 7 beautiful Corgi pups coming in next week. The (wonderdul) breeder is retiring, and we are assisting with placement of the pups.

We (Kim and Brooklynn) toured the home where the pups were raised, and we are excited to offer them as available to loving families.

Puppies! We love puppies 🐶😍

Sweet Shylah started visiting us for "Puppy preschool" 4 weeks ago to overcome fear of noises.

On intake, she would cower and run at any sound (vehicles in the distance, car alarms, construction sounds in the distance etc).
Shylah was absolutely DEBILITATED with fear!

After a few visits to our trainers home and some time with our confident pack we introduced exposure to new sound, both outdoors and also played on TV during rest times. We were seeing major improvements with each visit. 🍀💛

This week has been a breakthrough 🍀👌 During these pictures there was a roofing team next door nailing shingles, a lawn crew a few houses away and neighborhood traffic sound.

Noodle is continuing to practice his "Public access" skills, learning how to navigate public places under control.

Service dogs are taught to IGNORE things on the floor while they are working. This is for their own protection because often, we encounter dangerous or poisonous things such as gel silica packs, plastic tags, dropped medication, staples, sharp objects etc...
