Dogs like Bowser are the reason we speak out against backyard breeders. This is why we emphasize the importance of responsible breeding—which means comprehensive health testing, not just a basic genetic panel. These dogs are being bred for profit, not preservation, with no concern for their health, longevity, or the future of the breed.

When so-called “breeders” produce dogs with obvious genetic issues, those problems don’t just disappear—they get passed down, creating a cycle of suffering.

“Why Are Your Adoption Fees so high?”

The cost of veterinary care continues to rise across the country, and so does the number of foster dogs requiring extensive medical treatment. In many cases, the adoption fee doesn’t even cover the full cost of a single dog’s medical care. Over 90% of the dogs we take in arrive without a single vaccine, and many shelter rescues need additional medical attention beyond what the shelter has provided.

French Bulldogs and Bulldogs, in particular, are expensive breeds to care for due to their specialized health needs. To continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming these dogs, we must maintain our current adoption fees. Every dollar goes directly toward providing essential veterinary care, food, and resources for the dogs in our care, ensuring they get the second chance they deserve.

Meko when we get home from work is probably the funniest thing ever. He hops all around he’s so excited.

Don’t worry everyone meko is only locked in a room to eat (because he likes to get snippy with his food) but this is him every night. Snoring away in a king size bed with fluffy blankets. I know he likes to make yall think he’s got it real rough here lol.

Mr Meko got his wheels this evening!!! He’s still getting used to them but soon he’ll be running like Luna the Lunatic Frenchie and driving that thing like a race car. Thank you everyone who pitched in and made this possible! His little legs needed a break from dragging around. We appreciate you all more than you realize!
