Teddy ( Mini Bernedoodle)
arrived during the pandemic and did not have much socialization. We worked on his leash walking skills so that he would learn to avoid pulling thus tripping his person. Today Teddy can walk and sniff without lunging forward, much more enjoyable for both ends of the leash🐾

8 week old Koda is practicing calm behavior around a variety of stimuli. Over a 3 week period she has had almost 40 new positive environmental experiences!

Distance is key when do you have a reactive dog. Milly, CzechoslovakianShepherd has numerous fears that we are working through by making positive associations and reinforcing quiet behavior. Her guardian is very diligent thus helping Millie progress.

Because he had lots of exposure to novel objects, places, people, sights and smells at a very early age of 9 weeks no Halloween scary monsters frighten him, he thinks it’s all fun and games. And how cute is that costume👻🎃👻

Another couple of sessions with Scout. We began his training of socializing and exploring new environments when he was just 12 weeks old. These subsequent trainings are an easy & fun time for him.

Bosley is just 12 weeks old. We spent a great week together and had lots of fun & learning. He is housebroken, sleeps thru the night and loves to play the game of: Place, Sit, Down, Come. Great job Bosley🐾🎃

Rocco is a Bernedoodle Puppy. We spent the week practicing his recall (he was a star). We also worked on a nice settle and his potty training was perfect! Great job Rocco🐾

Bodie is a 10 week old King Shepherd. His guardian’s goals were to help curtail his mouthing and to encourage calm behavior when Bodie is sitting ringside at the horse farm. 🐴🐴

Jazz was enjoying her training at the Jersey Shore. We practiced Go to Mat, WAIT at the door and the most challenging for Jazz was Leave It since her favorite activity was to pick up seashells!

Met up with 110lb. puppy Grizzly (foreground) and Kane (a timid rescue)today. How wonderful they were off leash just doing what dogs do, exploring their environment and most important SNIFFING. What a calming natural exercise that is for them. BTW, Grizzley is a “Czechoslovakian Shepherd Dog”

Scout had a great week in training. We worked on her not jumping, not chasing cars, and not begging at the table during dinner. As you can see she happily goes to her mat with her best toy and a chewy and relaxes at dinner time. Keep practicing Scout and enjoy the summer on the beach🐾🐾

A reminder as the weather heats up! I often see Frenchies, Bulldogs and Pugs out in the hot sun. They are panting but that doesn’t mean they are getting enough oxygen, heatstroke happens in an instance!

⚡️ Keep them cool at home during the hottest hours
⚡️ Exercise early morning and late evening
⚡️ Have a “what if” plan. Where is the nearest emergency vet? Get to the vet ASAP!

Remember those who gave their lives for our freedom🐾

On Memorial Day we take time to reflect on those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to preserve what we hold so dear and take for granted so often.

Dogs have accompanied us through all our wars. Delivering messages, detecting mines, clearing buildings, bringing morale and hope to soldiers, parachuting on our backs, so much more, and they too have given their lives to protect us. It would not be appropriate for us to not also give thanks to the 4 legged members of our service who are also as valiant and brave as they come.

On this Memorial Day, reflect on all you hold dear and the many freedoms we have, and pause to thank those who gave their lives so we could continue ours. Thank you for your service.

“SCOUT” is a 10 week old Sheepadoodle. She just completed her first week of training and was a star. She happily responds to sit, down, wait, and come. She is also 100% housebroken! I have plenty of games planned for her next visit including loose leash walking🐾

I have watched numerous avalanche dogs in action. They are fast & focused and simply amazing!

Search and rescue dogs are critical first responders in what is on pace to be the deadliest avalanche season on record in the United States.
