We built the spa during the summer of 2023 and began working with the underwater treadmill that November. Our grand opening on February 13, 2024 was a special celebration, shared with the anniversaries of Barkingham Pet Hotel and California Paws Rescue—both marking 14 years on the 14th!
The first pup to step into our exercise chamber was Wilma, soon followed by her “brother,” Todd. Both love splashing around and playing with toys in the water!
This week, I’ll be sharing photos and stories of the incredible dogs who have blessed me with their presence and walked beside me in the warm water. – Miss Wendy

I’ve been providing massage therapy services to Charlie and Finn for about 2 years now. They are really doing well, and thier parents even say Charlie is “Reverse Aging!” These brothers come in to “Camp” as their mom calls it, at Barkingham Pet Hotel. Meet Bucky! How eloquent is he? This four year old pup broke his leg a couple of years back, and enjoys the warm water to walk in for his low impact exercise. We do some massage on our breaks, which is extra relaxing in the warmth of the water. Watch Bucky as he walks in the water as it fills to various depths, and as it drains.
