Meet Diesel! He was rescued by @calpawsrescue several years ago and adopted by a family that loves him. Diesel came in for hydrotherapy to help him strengthen his muscles and improve his gait. He seems to be a little sore as he is an extremely active dog and enjoys jumping, which gives a harsh impact to his joints, especially his front legs. I recently had the pleasure of being a returning guest on The Joey English Show for the fourth time. We missed having Lori Weiner with us this month, but we had a great talk about Canine Massage Therapy. The dogs and I had an amazing day today! 🌟 It started with a fun hydrotherapy session with Elton John; it was his first time and he absolutely loved it! 💦 Then, I got to give Daphney the sweet Bloodhound a relaxing massage—she's coming in for hydrotherapy soon, and I can't wait to work with her again! 🐕 I also had the opportunity to help a brave rescue dog from @calpawsrescue who had something stuck in his face. I just love helping dogs feel and move better. He's only 6 years old and gained a few pounds last year so he walks in the water with me for strengthening and weight loss. 🐕 DAPHNE had a bad bout with pneumonia! ADOPT A DOG. I fell in love with 3 more dogs from @dhsanimalcontrol at the adoption event hosted by @desertwagz . There providing relaxation to shelter dogs, my first massage was with Monty and he was so calm. Then I met Velveteen, oh what a love! Dana was a little nervous upon arrival because it was her first day out of the shelter and everything was new to her. I held her against my body with hopes she would lay across my lap and she did! It took 6 minutes, but she eventually totally relaxed and laid on me until I couldn’t feel my feet anymore. It was so great! I am so happy to have had this opportunity. Penny in action! Penny is a senior dog who struggles with Osteoarthritis and more. For her first 2 sessions she was happy to just be in standing up and receiving her warm water massage with minimal movement, but on ther third session she decided to walk! You can see how she was slow and stiff walking into the spa, but she sure had SPUNK when she left yesterday! - If your dog is struggling with mobility please give me a call, hydrotherapy is a great solution. #hydrotherapyfordogs

Spa Creation

We built the spa during the summer of 2023 and began working with the underwater treadmill that November. Our grand opening on February 13, 2024 was a special celebration, shared with the anniversaries of Barkingham Pet Hotel and California Paws Rescue—both marking 14 years on the 14th! The first pup to step into our exercise chamber was Wilma, soon followed by her “brother,” Todd. Both love splashing around and playing with toys in the water! This week, I’ll be sharing photos and stories of the incredible dogs who have blessed me with their presence and walked beside me in the warm water. – Wendy

We had another great adoption event at Just Food for Dogs, Rancho Mirage Pantry. California Paws Rescue is partners with Just Food For Dogs Rancho MIrage and one of our dogs Ghram was on hand to represent the 47 English Bull Terriers that we looking for thier forever homes. I gave massages to the dogs in foster care, and talked to people about the benefits of hydrotherapy for your dogs, it was great. My friend Gail brought her foster puppys from Riverside County Animial Services (aka CVAC). Some of these pups are 6 months old already. She pulled them from the red-list when they were 5 weeks old. They are so sweet, most are black and white pit-lab mixes, one the young female is 75% AmStaf. Gail has socialized them since thier rescue dates and it’s time for these pups to find thier forever homes so please share. And we are so happy that @rescuelyfe_ joined us today! We had an adoption! This sweet guy Leo is going home! If you haven’t yet visited Just Food For Dogs, you can bring your dog in and try the different treats that I use in hydrotherapy.
