Sweet sweet Betty⁠

Saying goodbye to a beloved family member can be the toughest thing for any parent. We don’t often think about losing our best friend until their fur turns white, they become a bit slower or in some unfortunate cases they develop a life-threatening disease. Such was the case with Betty. Cancer. ⁠
⁠
Before their time together drew to an end, I was honored to photograph Betty for a Rainbow Bridge/Celebration of life session. Capturing these special memories - stories shared in tears mixed with love as we celebrated her life's journey before a new adventure began elsewhere. ⁠

The greatest politician that ever lived Mayor Max
⁠
Last year, on a whim, I DM’d Mayor Max asking if I could photograph him. To my immediate surprise his momma, Phyllis, responded and invited me over to photograph Max.⁠
⁠
A few days later I was greeted with smiles from Phyllis, Glenn, and of course Mayor Max! We spent a couple of hrs together chatting while I photographed max.⁠
⁠
After taking photos at their house I was invited to Max’s famous daily meet and greet in downtown Idyllwild. He stood tall in the back of the pickup truck and barked into the sky to let his fans know he arrived. Hikers, locals, and visitors walked on over with gleaming smiles from ear to ear. They were met with hugs, kisses, and photo ops - I was witnessing a local celebrity in a loving element. ⁠

The afternoon couldn’t have been any more enjoyable Although, I think Max would have enjoyed it a little bit more if Phyllis let him eat the entire bag of bread we used to get his attention for photos ⁠

Two months later, Mayor Max unexpectedly passed away. He was taken too soon but is forever remembered in the loving memories of those who knew him. His life reminds us to cherish our pets and take every opportunity to capture their personalities with beautiful photographs.⁠

RIP, Max. Thank you for being amazing and being a light to so many people.⁠
⁠

While everyone has their own reasons for wanting pet photos, I think the primary motivation is the same - people just want to preserve memories of their beloved fur babies.

Ever wonder how your life would be different without your best friend by your side?⁠

It's hard to imagine, but the truth is, dogs don't live long enough. I'm often asked, "When is the best time to have my pet photographed?" And although many feel it's only necessary for their later years my answer is always "Now" as tomorrow is never promised. ⁠
⁠
The unconditional love of our furry friends is something to be treasured - they fill us with joy, but don't stay forever. That's why it was so special to witness the bond between 17yr old Muffin and his family during their pet photography session; a Christmas gift that captured memories for years beyond tomorrow. It moved me when dad sang this beautiful song just for him.⁠

It's tiiiiiiiime! Time for a brand-new website and branding reveal!! 

Seeking a fresh new look for my pet photography business, I recently collaborated with Tom Bosch & Lindsay Bosch of .studios to do just that. I take a lot of pride in the work I do, but I felt the brand and client experience hadn't been fully developed. 

I gave Tom & Linday full reigns on the creative process but asked that they followed these guidelines

1) Incorporate Palm Springs, dogs/cats through elements and color
2) Be inviting, luxurious and artistic 
3) Express the love for my craft and animals via copy throughout the website and inquiry/product guides

As an artist myself, releasing creative control was intimidating, but boy did Bosch Studios really hit a home run. 

I'm excited to share this new journey with you and hope you feel the love and passion for what I do and inspire you to consider having your best friend photographed.

Yesterday I was excited to share a couple of elements .studios created for my new branding and today I'm bursting with excitement to share my brand-new logo designs - complete with stickers and business cards! 
studios was extraordinary in creating two logos so that cat OR dog owners felt included in my brand. So, if you have a cat you'll receive cat branding, and the same for if you have a dog.

Since childhood I've felt connected to animals and have always thought of them as family.

It saddens me to know there are millions of animals who don’t have a forever home.

My mission has always been to help animals however I can. From being vegan to photographing those at the shelter.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph these cats available for adoption from Frisky Business Palm Springs Cat Cafe

She had done it before so it wasn't a surprise when Indio, our orange tabby, jumped over the backyard fence. But this time was different. This time she jumped over and wandered off a bit further than was easily accessible for us to grab her.

Because our home sits on a slight hill, when my husband was finally able to get to her it was impossible for him to hold her tightly and walk up without falling over. I told him to stay put, hopped in the car, drove down to meet them and got them both back safely.

The part of the story Indio hates is that because of her attempted escape is how we found Willow. As I drove down to meet them, out of nowhere this little kitten ran right in front of the car. I pulled over and did my best to capture him, but he was fast and scared.

After getting Indio home we drove back with food to where I saw the kitten. It took Adolfo about 1 hr, but he was finally able to grab him by one foot and pull him into his chest. We were met with the cutest hisses, but now we are greeted with the cutest whiny meow anytime we come home.

And Indio? Indio wishes she never tried to escape.

I started photographing animals after losing my 8yr old Aussie, Magnolia, to cancer just 1 month and 4 days after adopting her from the shelter. When she passed, I realized I only had 2 beautiful portraits of her. Thats when I decided that every pet owner deserves to have beautiful, everlasting portraits of their best friend.
