Now through January 31, all donations made to VCA Charities at VCA Animal Hospitals throughout California will support disaster relief efforts, including support for pets impacted by the current devasting fires in the Los Angeles area. VCA Animal Hospitals is proud to support VCA Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in their disaster relief efforts. Every dollar helps local animal welfare organizations shelter, transport and care for pets through grants that fund veterinary care, medication, food, and supplies.

Donations can be made at any VCA Animal Hospitals or visit VCACharities.org to donate online.

Meet Sammie!!! One of our wonderful Veterinary Assistants! Loving her time spent helping our community with whatever your pet's needs are. Sammie has lived in the valley for 7 years and worked at VCA Desert for the last 4 years, starting in our boarding and pharmacy department, she moved to Veterinary Assistant to best help the pets in our community. Sammies' world is her dog Willow, and both are major Firebird fans, Sammie tries to never miss a game GO FIREBIRDS!

Heads up the hospital will be closed from 12-3pm for training meeting. I'll be back at 3pm! See you soon!

Everybody give a warm welcome to Natalie!

Natalie has been with VCA Desert for 5 years now starting in out boarding department, and moving to our room nurses department 2 years ago. Natalie has a deep love for her community and the animals in it. She loves making each patient feel helped, loved and special.
Natalie adores spending time with her family, watching football, and playing with her dog Bandit.

Everyone say Hi to Dr. Stephanie Horwitz!

Dr. Horwitz grew up in Orange County, California. Even from a young age, she loved animals, especially reptiles.
After completing her degree in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz , she spent a year interning at the Oklahoma City Zoo. Dr. Horwitz received a B.A in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She received her D.V.M from Midwestern University. She recently completed a one-year internship with Arizonia Exotic Animal hospital, the largest exotic animal hospital in the United States. She is currently working towards completing her board certification to specialize in reptiles and amphibian medicine. She is one of the very few exotics veterinarians in the valley, and works with Palm Springs Animal Shelter as much as she can to get exotic pets beautiful homes.

She shares her home with two bearded dragons, one blue tongue skink, a green tree monitor, a tegu, and three cats. If she is not playing with one of her furry or scaly friends, you can find her hiking, cooking or going to hockey games, GO DUCKS!!

Dr Horwitz takes the time to explain husbandry and her love for your fluffy, furry, feathered or scaly friend!

Sarah is one of our raising Techniciansā€™ here at VCA Desert for the last 6 years with 20 years of experience in animal rescues, boarding, and 7 years in Veterinary care. Sarah has lived her whole life in the Coachella Valley. Her deep love and commitment to animals and her community has followed her through her life. Next month, Sarah will be taking the California State test to be a Registered Veterinary Technician to fellow her dream to help her community by treating and helping the pets around the desert. Here at VCA Desert we support her and canā€™t wait to call her RVT! Say hello next time you come in.
