We have some new little mystery babies out of Nibbles x Nano! We believe they’re a variety of Platinum, likely a triple dilute mix of Russian blue, mink, and ruby eye dilute. They’re super light and creamy with rich ruby eyes

Nibbles gave birth this morning to her first litter with Nano as the stud. Her sister should be delivering over the weekend as well. I’m eager to see what kind of babies they have! Along with Russian blue standards and silvermane, possibilities include dove, Pearl, Harley, and hairless (I’m hoping Nibbles doesn’t carry hairless since all my other rats currently do lol)

I’m in love with this little Pearl boy 💙 He’s the only one that survived out of Sky’s litter and I’m so glad he did. I’m really hoping to keep him, but only if he passes the health and temp requirements for being a breeder. Fingers crossed!

Zu’s babies will be opening their eyes any day now! They’re about 5 days younger than Ru’s litter and are turning out as a lovely mix of Russian blue and Russian dove with 3 standard coats, 3 Harley coats, and 2 hairless.

I can’t get over this little “mouse.” Dewey the dwarf is so full of s***k and SO hyper. He’s adorable. I can’t wait to see what he’s like as an adult

Our newest dwarf boy, Dewey, has a total Napoleon complex! Luckily, Dobby and Gremlin are total sweethearts and have let him “dominate” them. Dewey is staying with me but the other boys are going to their new home today. I’m going to miss them!

Ru’s babies are about to open their eyes! She’s been a great momma and I can’t wait to see how her babies turn out. The one lighter baby is a foster from her sister Sky, who decided she didn’t want to be a mom.

A packing peanuts dig box seemed like a great idea for approximately two minutes… until the rats started trying to eat the styrofoam 🙄 No more packing peanuts for them! The photos sure were cute through. Here’s Nano about to run off with a “peanut”

Just Bato being cute. Bato is the current runner up to be Nano’s heir when it’s time for Nano to retire. He’s not as in-your-face lovey as Nano, but he’s friendly, calm, gentle with new rats and babies, and has shown a good immune system so far. He sired two litters this summer/fall and has a 3rd on the way.

His only down side is that he doesn’t seem to carry Harley while he DOES carry hairless, which is unfortunate. But my primarily goals right now are health and temperament. “Build the barn before you paint it.” Desired looks can come later.

Ghostface enjoying a banana chip inside his PVC tunnel. He was paired with one of our dwarf females, Loomis, this week, so hopefully he’ll become a dad next month!

This little dwarf boy takes after his momma! He’s a dead ringer for her at this age. Somewhere along the line my baby dwarfs ended up with slasher movie themed names, particularly names related to the Scream series. Therefore, I’ll be naming this boy Dewey

These two hairless brothers have been reserved! I’m always happy for the hairless babies when they get chosen since they tend to get chosen last, no matter how sweet they are 🥲

We recently completed lab-based health testing and are excited to announce that our rattery tested negative for all main zoologic viruses and bacteria! This includes pathogens responsible for Seoul’s virus, Sendai virus, LCMV, SDAV, and Rat Bite Fever. They weren’t fans of being swabbed lol, but it’s critical to ensure that our animals are as healthy and safe as possible for both people and other pets.

It’s important to note that just because our rats tested negative does not mean it’s impossible for them to acquire such pathogens after adoption, as several of these pathogens are commonly found in the environment where wild rodents live. So it’s still important to familiarize yourself with the common symptoms and treatments of rodent-related illnesses, particular Rat Bite Fever, and to practice proper hygiene with your pets as one should with any animal under their care.

On the left is Bumi, our agouti (or possibly Cinnamon) silvermane standard boy. On the right is Meelo, our Siamese roan velveteen dwarf boy. Siamese roan is one of the most useless color combos because it basically just creates a solid white rat, but he sure was cute as a baby before his color faded! 😆 Bumi isn’t a breeder but Meelo has fathered two litters with us.

This girl couldn’t get much bigger! 🤪 Miss Ru is about to pop. Fingers crossed for a safe delivery and healthy babies. Her sister, Sky, should be on the same track, but she’s not looking nearly as big so we’ll see if she has any beans for us. Hopefully she’s just hiding it well

Ghostface, our velveteen roan dwarf boy, has discovered how to get down to the floor from the cage. He’s so tiny running around on the ground! But he’s got a big personality and is already learning to chase me around for treats 🤣
