Thank you Alicia for the invite and chat!
Check out links below to Alicia’s Podcast episode where we chat about Winter Hoofcare!
For those of us in cold climates, we know horsekeeping becomes exponentially more difficult in winter. Frozen mud, snow, ice, slick terrain, and with horses in rehab, we can see a lot of discomfort without the proper care and protection. Not only that, but keeping OURSELVES warm in winter can be a challenge - and when I know when I am cold, I become more grumpy about how much time I want to put into what I am doing outside!
For hoofcare providers in winter, we don't often have the option to avoid the cold. So how do we keep ourselves comfortable working in this weather, and keep the horses comfortable too?
Deanna Quinn, a hoofcare provider in Alaska, talks about tips and tricks for surviving the cold winter months with hoofcare in mind. You can hear the entire conversation on any podcast app under "The Humble Hoof," or directly at this link:https://thehumblehoof.com/2025/01/10/hoofcare-in-the-winter/
