But, we have GREAT news!
Dr Kramer will now work with us to serve the communities previously seen by Dr David Colwell with Aleutian Pet Care
So please welcome Dr Kramer to Dutch Harbor/Unalaska, Sand Point, Cold Bay, King Cove, Port Lions and hopefully Kodiak
Our first trip will be to Dutch Harbor from May 6-12. We will travel to the other communities in the fall and also return to Dutch Harbor with dates to come soon

While in each community this year, we plan to have a memorial for Dr Colwell with announcements to come regarding those events in the very near future
Here is a little bit about Dr Kramer:
Dr. Marc Kramer is a veterinarian of 26 years. He LOVES his work. It shows in his dedication to helping the animals, educating himself in new areas of veterinary medicine, and filling roles in the care of both domestic and exotic companion animals.
Originally hailing from New York, Dr. Kramer graduated from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Thereafter, he completed an additional year of specialized training as an intern in bird and exotic animal medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College. From there, he migrated south to Miami where he worked for nearly 10 years at a busy avian & exotic animal specialty hospital. Broadening his patients to include dogs, cats, and exotics alike, in 2009 he began a new chapter as a traveling companion animal vet. This enabled him to fill vital roles at animal hospitals, universities, and animal shelters around the country. Realizing the critical need for qualified vets in Alaska, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for the 49th State, Dr. Kramer quickly became a regular contributor to the care of Alaska’s animals.
His earliest experience in Alaska dates back to his years as an undergraduate student, working a summer job as a seabird biologist on remote Middleton Island in 1993. From 2008-2011, he worked with the US Fish & Wildlife Service to address a mortality outbreak in Alaska’s sea otter population. Over the last 10 years, he’s been called to Alaska on a regular basis to help with the immense need for spay/neuter efforts and animal medical care. Providing veterinary services in remote villages, including the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, Seward Peninsula, and the Pribilofs, Dr. Kramer has worked extensively around the state to help Native Alaskan communities and their pets. Moreover, for the past 5 years, he’s been a regular veterinarian at the Animalitos clinic in Wasilla, performing thousands of spays and neuters along with providing medical and surgical care for the dogs and cats of the Mat-Su Valley.
Beyond his veterinary work, Dr. Kramer has a strong passion for birds. He leads birdwatching tours around the world with his wife, Eliana. Some of his favorite Alaska birding destinations include Attu, Adak, St. Paul Island, Nome, Utqiagvik, Kodiak, Cordova, and the Kenai. Another passion of Dr. Kramer's is his vintage 1978 Volkswagen Bus; together with Eliana, they’ve driven it twice from Florida to Alaska and back!
Dr. Kramer looks forward to regularly assisting the Aleutian communities to keep the pets there happy and healthy
