Well here is a chance to support the Dalmatian Club of America 2025 National Specialty and be awarded a double-door (front and rear) Ruffland crate with a storage topper. $5 for one opportunity or $25 for six opportunities. DCA will give one donor a Ruffland large double-door kennel with storage topper in Millstone Grey. Recipient to be announced at DCA 2025, immediately after Best of Breed. The only way to be aware of Copper Storage is to be on top of testing.

Please do you testing and watch for elevated levels.
There is no embark or other genetic testing for this. We have to be proactive to catch it!

January’s in the Spotlight is all about Lani! The one that brought a 20 plus year old dream to reality!

In March of 2021 this special girl came to me for some training and to be bred to my special guy Chaos. In June of that year a Dream that I’ve had for over 20 years was coming true. A litter with Merry Go Round. I am still just in awe of how this special girl came into our lives and made these dreams come true. That’s where the Glee litter theme came in.

With how fast that all happened some of the training had to wait but she had already so much promise. We had the most amazing litter of 8 Glee-it’s!

We worked on and earned her Novice Trick Dog title and she’s played a little in scent work with her buddy Denny. Her first big show she hit with a bang getting both her majors out of the way!

We soon got her 3rd & 4th major but sat at 14 points with 4 majors, here in Alaska shows are far and few between.
Talked with her breeders and decided sending her out to some shows with an amazing handler was going to be best. She did finish with a 5th major win! No surprised! She had grown leaps and bounds with her confidence!

While out she was bred and this time it was full Merry Go Round breeding!! This gave us our Adventures litter! I could not have been more pleased with this litter! This is more than I truly ever could have dreamed of. 🥰

This girl has been more than I could have ever asked for! I can’t thank her amazing breeders, Rod and Patti Strand of Merry Go Round for entrusting us with this special girl!

Thank you to all the owners of her amazing pups too!

She has so much more to offer and I can’t wait to see what her future holds for MGR and Fireday Dalmatians!!

FIREWORKS are coming!!!

Lost Pet reports spike 69% on New Year’s Day, every year, without fail!
Please secure your pets, check your fences, take them out on leash, even in a fenced yard, provide them music in the house to ease their stress caused by fireworks. 
If you see a pet out running loose on New Year’s Eve, presumably scared by the fireworks and lost from home, get a picture if possible, try to crinkle a treat bag or shake a dish of dry food to get their attention and see if they will load up in a vehicle or allow you to approach. Try asking them “SIT” and see if that will snap them out of survival mode and get their attention. If you are unable to secure, Mark the spot where you last saw them and leave a little food at that location and do not pursue. Thanks!

Taking your pets out to “watch the fireworks” probably not a smart idea either. Leave them home. They will be okay. Turn a radio on or the tv. Crate them. They will be safer
But if you are those people that “have” to bring them. Please make sure their collar is fitted correctly, most people have them too loose so tighten them. A fitted collar can help them slipping it when they freak out. Make sure they are marked with your name and info.

I think I’m going to start a puppy in the Spotlight starting in January but I’m going to end 2024 with the Fireday Dalmatian kicking butt at agility!

Thank you Denise for all you are doing with your special girl! I appreciate it and love love love seeing those titles behind her name!! Can’t wait to see what 2025 brings for you guys!!

Skye is taking agility by Storm! Earning her Novice Agility, Novice Agility Jumpers and their Open Jumpers with weeves titles this year! Thank you to your determination and dedication to the sport! It a lot of training and commitment and you girls are rocking it!
