Happy New Year Everyone! As we close out 2024 and head into 2025 we want to thank the community for your support and love. You are why we do this. Our mission is to help feed the community, educate those within our reach about the importance of sustainability, and create a gathering place. We plan on continuing to do that with some of the same programs from last year and some new ones we are excited to announce. We have been asked what the best time slot is for Country Christmas. It really depends on the type of person you are and the circumstances that apply to you but we prefer the 4 o’clock slot because we love how the lights make it look, it’s so cozy! It looks like a Hallmark movie 🎄 Comment below on what you would think a good Hallmark movie plot for this would be - make sure and include a meet cute!

Here’s ours: the girl in the sweet shoppe is leaning on the window being sad that she is alone this Christmas when the tractor and toboggan ride pass her and someone falls out of the sled right in front of her window. She rushes to help and makes eye contact with the cutest guy she’s ever seen. Of course she finds out later that he is also the one trying to buy her family's land but in the end he buys it for her instead and they get married and live happily ever after!

Some Country Christmas Q&A for tonight:
Q: Are there any discounts on tickets?
A: Yes! The first is obviously the cheaper family rate where you can save by bringing a party of 4 but there are also a couple of BIG discount codes you can enter at checkout such as--
*Military discount: enter code MILT
*Homeschool discount: enter code HOME
(Now, before any freaks out that this is the first they have heard of it, we send those codes out to the administration of the various groups they apply to to disseminate as they see fit because we have found that when we have posted them on social media they have been misused in the past. But PLEASE SHARE them with people you know that they apply to.)

Q: Is this event going to be too crowded to enjoy? Are you limiting people?
A: It will not be crowded and we are extremely limiting. It is not a festival per se like our other events, it is more like an experience that you can come take at a slower pace and do fun things with those you love. We are limiting to a couple hundred. (The jury is still out on what people prefer because there is a certain type of energy that comes with more people so we would love your feedback on this.)

Q: Does anything else cost after we purchase tickets?
A: Originally there were two things - christmas trees and cinnamon rolls. But we were reminded that we didn't state anything about the cinnamon rolls being an extra cost before people bought tickets so for the rest of the dates they will be included. The items that come with each station are included as well to take home (like a stocking stuffer, ornament, picture, etc.)

Q: Do I have to come right at the beginning of my time slot?
A: The short answer is no, but you do have to leave by the end of your time slot so plan accordingly. There are about a dozen things to do but you should have adequate time. The timed slots is another thing we are trying out and while we are not sure it would work for all events we would love your feedback.

Many of the things at our Country Christmas event are indoors just in case the weather doesn't cooperate. Here are a couple of those fun things --

-Santa's Workshop: this space is for a couple of different things including our service project for making blankets for those in need (or you can bring your own present to donate), writing a last minute letter to Santa, making a fun melted snowman ornament, and snapping a fun polaroid that you can decorate and put in a magnetic frame for yourself or a loved one.

-Santa's Stopover Cabin: it may not be his main house in the North Pole, but this cozy cabin from the colonists is the perfect stopover where Santa will be waiting to visit with you!

This post is to address the comments and pictures being circulated about our event from this last weekend. We don't generally like to address a whole group, as we would rather speak one on one to people, but feel we need to in certain circumstances. This last week we had some big challenges both personally and professionally that, combined with many variables outside of our control, bled into this last weekends event. We understand that is not your problem as the public and businesses have a responsibility to deliver on their advertised offerings. That being said, we have personally reached out to those affected and refunds have been issued. We also wanted to assure you that the issues have been addressed and, God willing, won't be a problem moving forward. To further show our understanding of accountability towards you as our patrons we will be posting throughout the week about the festival and its offerings and what you can expect.

As a sidenote, we understand the blessing that technology and social media has presented to all of us. But we would encourage everyone to also understand its power and treat each other with respect and kindness.

**TICKETS ARE OFFICIALLY ON SALE FOR OUR COUNTRY CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL**

Yay! We can't wait to celebrate Christmas with you at Country Christmas. We will be holding it from 12-6PM on the following dates: December 6,7,13,14,20, and 21st. Here are some of the fun things we have planned:

Christmas Crawl: {NEW} Join Cater McPillar and Wiggleton as they take you on a magical ride through Christmas from a bugs eye view.
Whoville Hairshop: no Christmas Village would be complete without a Whoville Hairshop!
Mrs Claus Sweet Shoppe: gourmet hot chocolate and fresh cinnamon rolls to warm you up.
Santa's Workshop: this is designed to be a way to serve this Christmas. You can bring your own presents and donations, or make your own gifts for those in need.
Polar Express: Board a festively decorated 'train' for an enchanting holiday experience - including your own bell and cookie!
Santa Stopover: Santa will be available in his 'Christmas Cabin' to hear each child’s wish list.
Nana's Nativity Display: (dedicated to Nana) enjoy a nativity display highlighting her collection.
Christmas Tree: pick the perfect tree from the selection in our old fashioned tree lot. LIMITED AVAILABILITY
Toboggan rides: come dressed for the weather and get pulled through the field on our toboggan. THIS WILL BE WEATHER DEPENDENT

That’s a wrap on October and our 2024 Season! Thanks for helping us put the finishing touches on fall and playing with us in our haunted house 🏚️

Continuing with the harvest today is CELERY! Celery is a longer day vegetable and takes quite some time to get ready. With newer varieties and lots of water it grows great here in Alaska. Ours are free from any kind of pesticides or chemicals - no dirty dozen list for these babies! We also have corn stalk bundles for sale for all the fall vibes. Available now at the front counter.
